While driving to work today morning, I was listening to the radio as usual. There wasn’t anything different on it today – as always a few songs here and there between loads of ads and the useless jabbering of RJs.
Now since the songs are so few and far between, they somehow become objects of reverence - “Ah! A song finally! It’s good too!”. The pleasure of a good song is doubled since I finally get to hear it after patiently sitting through life insurance advices and minute details of the RJ’s love life.
So you can imagine the frustration when after enduring so much the song that comes on is “Love me! Love me! Love me! Your amma says you love me, your papa says you love me”
I grinded my teeth and changed the station hoping to catch something good there. More jabbering. Next station. Ad of Aircel Mobile. Next station. Ah! A song, but…. “Volume kam kar, papa jag jayega”.
More teeth grinding. Next station. Ad for Naukri.com. Next station. Oh good! A song….. “Woofer tu meri, main tera amplifier”
The radio has taught me to be patient, if nothing else.
