At some point or the other, whether we are using Third Party Cracked software in Computers/Mobiles or downloading MP3, videos and movies from the internet illegally for FREE, we are party to some form of piracy. If you like it or not, you are indirectly linked to piracy in some form or the other. Can we stop piracy? I do not have any answer to this question…
Computers and Software
Now-a-days, Laptops and Desktops come bundled with Platform OS and necessary software equipments. So that we do not have to spend extra money in buying an OS. If we wish to use some special software thereafter, we can download some free trails or buy them over the internet.
Many Cracked Software are available over Torrent sites now-a-days. Antivirus, Photo editing software, IDE’s, Video Players whose License would cost us a fortune can be easily downloaded from Torrent sites and used. Some thousands of downloads per day, illicit Torrent sites to have more advertisers and expand thei domain. If you are using software for your own private usage, some companies offer private product license key for Trial use. Thereafter, you can buy Software License based on your usage.
Note: Usage of pirated software for Commercial Purpose is prohibited by Law and is Illegal.
Music or Movies
When did you last download a free MP3 from the Internet? The innumerable number of items when we just search for a MP3 over internet, download it from a Third Party Site with a Click and transfer it to our iPod/MP3 Player or phones is countless. I won’t debate over its correctness and ethics but surely, if you respect music and moreover, respect the producers or the directors or the composers who make music/movies, maybe you will think otherwise.
In Western Countries, popular websites like iTunes and Amazon offer song and album downloads at bare affordable prices and people use it them in loads. Now-a-days, in India, Flipkart is offering Instant Music downloads at good affordable prices and it is really picking pace. :)
Books
The Saga continues and you can find entire volume of books available for download from the Internet over Torrent Sites and Cloud Platforms. Be it Fictions or Novels or Study Books, you can find some and all over the Internet. Although I must say, use of different Search Engines for this purpose, is an art, nonetheless.
Ebooks available over the Internet at affordable prices can be downloaded and are a cheap alternative if you are planning not to buy the paper version. Although, it is yet to pick pace in India, but nonetheless, it is a green alternative and save paper. We should promote the use of Ebooks to Save Trees.
Piracy: Affirmative or Non-Affirmative
Piracy is a kind of drug. You are linked to it either directly or indirectly irrespective of your choice. But can we stop it? No will be my answer. At least, we can refrain from it and if there are valid and alternative choices available, we should always go for it. My say will be, Pick your Poison accordingly. ;-)
