I have been a frequent online buyer from different portals like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Ebay, Jabong and other websites. While my diverse experience varies from Excellent to Pathetic, my recent experience with Amazon India and Post Sales Customer Service is worth a Review.
No Offense to Flipkart but I have heard Flipkart Services deteriorating now-a-days. I fortunately have not been party to such an exercise, even after placing so many orders in Flipkart and getting the best service every time. Thanks to the super active post purchase consumer cell at Flipkart!
Now my Experience with Amazon India:
Since its opening in India, I have placed subsequent Orders with Amazon. For a novice, buying a product on their website can be a little tedious given the complicated buying process. After the first purchase and registration, buying of follow-up products can be real easy – you bet! Better than Flipkart – Trust me! Other than this, the website’s fit and finish is typical of Amazon.com – easy to use intuitive UI. In most cases, Amazon offers some competitive pricing on books and products. I have matched and compared with other online portals for the same product but the quote on Amazon.in was the lowest of all. I have tried and availed the best of discounts on books and purchases.
Good Things:
Once you register with Amazon.in and make your first purchase, Amazon remembers your card details – so next time we are not required to re-enter entire card details for making a purchase.
As a promotional offer, Amazon India is offering zero shipping charge for purchases of any denomination. (*These products are required to be fulfilled by Amazon)
Amazon.in provides good discounts not only on books but also on electronic goods and products.
Their post sales service is spot on and ready to hear all your complaints and feedback. Their professional way of handling things really bowled me and is worth a mention!
Not so Good Things:
In most of my Orders, the product was delivered much ahead of the expected delivery date. Blame it on the courier service? Amazon.in needs to seriously improve its tie up courier partners in India. (Amazon.com really scores in this aspect – they deliver products in 48-Hr cycle)
They need to increase the range of products to include more diverse and other categories of daily use products. (*It is more of a suggestion and I suppose is in the process of arrival in the coming days)
My take: When the e-commerce market is booming in India, the introduction of Amazon.in could not have come at a better time. I seriously hope Amazon.in improves its service and cater to a much wider population with competitive prices and zero shipping charge in the upcoming days.
Happy Shopping – Pick your Poison!
