~Gift a Smile this Christmas~

With the month of December drawing to a close and people across the world await the ushering of a prosperous new year ahead; it is the time for celebrations and fun filled holidays. What are the best ways to celebrate this season?

1. Picnics

Get-together with near and dear ones for a day or two is a real stress buster and is good for the family. Everybody wants a time out and it is a good time to end the year in unison amidst nature, family and friends. I remember my days as a kid when the word picnic used to evoke unmatched feelings and I used to long for the day of the picnic to arrive. Picnics meant fun filled times and running around playing games with friends and food.

2. Dine-Out

As the sun sets across the horizon, the night streets are now filled with fun loving ever energetic people of all vistas. Work laden office going people prefer to take family and friends to dine outs. Discussing old and fun times and recounting good events from the year over liquor and food is really a no-brainer.

3. Holidays/Vacations

Probably the best time of the year where it is difficult even to find a basic accommodation in hotels, tourist places are buzzing with people. Many people wait through the entire year for this one time vacation with family and friends. Be it sea-side or hills or backwaters or the deserts, vacations are a real deal! It takes time off from work and gives new motivation to start afresh. Best advice is to plan early.

4. Watch movie

Be it weekdays or weekends, enjoying with a tub of popcorn over blockbusters on your favorite screen can be good. Big box movies like Dhoom 3, Chaader Pahar and Hobbit is creating ripples across the country. Most of the shows are running houseful, so check ticket availability before commencing any further. Don’t forget to check MS Reviews on the above movies before going for one. :)

5. Baking Cakes/Preparing Roast

It is the time of the year to show case your culinary skills! Be inspired from cooking videos on Youtube and prepare the best plum cake of the season. Share with family and friends and spread joy. Roasting of chicken, turkey or ham the good old way and having a drink on Christmas or New Years eve is a pleasant delight. And don’t forget to upload the pictures on Facebook!

6. Decorate Home, Buy Gifts

Buy your own Christmas Tree, decorate with candies, bells and whistles. Tie socks around the fireplace, maybe this year Santa may give you a visit. Prepare yourself to be surprised and also plan to surprise your near and dear ones with gifts. Maybe you can gift yourself the Ipad or the Nexus 7 that you had been longing for so long! It is the time for gifts, so get set and go.

My way of celebrating the season:

Just like any other Christmas I prefer to celebrate it the same old way. I collate money over the entire year for this special occasion. I buy some odd 40 gifts and wrap it up properly. On the grand eve of Christmas and New Year, I visit the home of the abled and hand it over to the gifted children of our race. I long to see the eagerness and anxiety that runs through their face as they race through their gifts. It may be small but it does bring a smile to their face at the end of the day. It is good to sit with them, spend time to hear their wishes for the next year and their resolutions for the New Year. In this way, I prefer to do something different and can start afresh and be ready for a challenging year ahead.

Waiting to hear ways of celebrating Christmas from other members – please feel free to comment your feedback.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to MS Family!

Thanks @faisal @caretaker @Vikram_Tech and the entire MS Team for arranging so many ground breaking contests this year. While other sites flaunts with openness and transparency, MouthShut_Official.com has always valued our feedback and will continue to do so in the years to come. MS was the first to approach SC on the Freedom of Expression for consumers this year. Keep up the good work and we wish the best in the days to come!
