Blog #11 - Have you become what you dreamt in your childhood?

By: heart_twister | Posted Jan 17, 2014 | Direct from the heart | 540 Views

All of must have dreamt of being something very powerful or some one who is admired by everyone. Yes, I too dreamt of being a pilot, but I had no idea that I would land up doing PG. Now being a pilot seems a dream and very far from reality. Many of you would must have faced the same situation where in you desired to be a great personality, ending up in north-south direction with all childhood dreams shattered!

Well, I know a friend on mine who wanted to be an engineer and is now an engineer, and as per me that friend of mine should be very proud of himself as he has achieved what he dreamt of being during childhood. To my surprise he is quite confused! One reason can be that he can't digest that he has passed all his exams and now become an engineer. One reason can be that he has got what he desired, now what's next? Well, what ever may be the reason I feel that it's a proud feeling to have achieved our childhood dreams, and not only for us it's a proud feeling for our parents too.

Great lines by everyone's favorite "All our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them" - Walt Disney. Well, we too had the courage, the strength & the determination to go far and pursue our dreams, but destiny chose me to be something else. At times this lost dream keeps poking me and bothering me. "Wish I could be a pilot! Wish I could serve our nation! Wish I could make my parent proud, etc". In this bargain we are always unhappy.

Well, Why is this dream haunting me? I am happy now too, it isn't bad being a post graduate. Now too I can serve the country in my own little way, my parents too are happy and proud that I am doing good in my academics, so why should I bother? That dream was a dream and there are no space for past dream in future, so live life king size and be happy with what you are. Destiny gives us the best that we deserve so we are where we are now.

Everyone can't be a pilot nor everyone can be an engineer, the system has to be maintained and so everything has to be accepted the way it is.

Destiny will play it's part and one should be happy with whatever they have or whatever they possess. As said, what if I'm not an pilot, I am still serving all the needs that I was supposed to. Ain't I?

Please share the story on your side, what was your childhood dream and have you achieved it? Is it disturbing you if you haven't achieved your childhood dream?
