It was the first day of college and none among the freshers knew the way to their classroom. Even a blind man could have traced whether a person is a fresher or a senior. We all seemed so confused. Never been to such auditorium and it was just in movies that I saw such auditoriums, like in 3 idiots. The campus also was not well explored by any of us when we came here to seek admission.
We all seemed confused and landed up on a lonely floor. We kept walking and as we were walking in group so it wasn't that scary walking on a lonely floor. At the end of the gangway there were few students. Long beard, funky get up and they seemed to be seniors, there were few girls too.
They halted us and introduced themselves to us with a unique style and introduced themselves in a rhythmic manner like Ramesh, Suresh, Mahesh etc(Obviously wasn't their real name). They seemed very boasting by nature, and they went on and on and spoke very rudely. It was no more than a nightmare, and all of a sudden I was remembered all the posters that were put up in college about anti ragging. By now we were sure that they were upto having some fun! Fun come ragging! We all were scared as to what next would we have to do inorder to escape from here? One guy besides me later spoke with me and said me that he felt they would make guys do Jahapana Tussi Great Ho! Tohfa Kabool Karo! Hahahahaha that was insane.
They had a whole bunch of bananas which they peeled in less than a minute and pull all the skins on the floor. Now what's next? They asked us to walk on them and the floor was dumped with all banana skins.
It was really scary as the floor too was very slippery and on top of that these skins would make matters worse. We all were clueless and thought how would we clear this hurdle. Shouting wouldn't help neither would running as both were of no use.
We were 10-12 people and doing a banana walk would surely injure someone, soon enough I peeped out of the adjacent window and to my surprise I found a college watchman standing. I grabbed a banana skin and sneaking past few freshers I threw that skin aiming at the watchman.
He realized that something was wrong and made his way up the building, and these seniors had some kinda setting through which they came to know if anyone was coming up towards them.
Meanwhile they made 3-4 people walk on the banana skin, and 2 out of them fell badly and one got hurt very badly. Suddenly they all started running, somehow or the other they came to know about the watchman coming upstairs.
The rest 6 people were safe and only few knew that I had initiated and threw the skin down to alert the watchman. Finally all of them praised me but sad part was that among the two guys who fell one of them was bleeding. He was immediately taken away and given first aid treatment.
We all were taken to all the classes and were asked if there was any person who was involved in the ragging. None of them were traceable. If it wasn't for me throwing the skin down then there would have been more injuries.
Stop ragging, it can hurt someone mentally as well as physically!
