Need to be Aware - Purported guidelines for shipping

By: Emptor | Posted Dec 19, 2011 | General | 336 Views

Hi,

How many of those reading this post, are aware that as per Indian Rules & Regulations, one cannot ship lighter or similar products with the fuel chamber full? Extending this logic, we could have watches being shipped without the battery cell, mobiles without the battery and so on, right?

Now, without getting overly cynical, don't you agree with me that this fact should be highlighted in the offer terms or in the very least, the product package when dispatched?

I ordered one of the 'Firestrike Lighters' offered on the crazeal.com site on the 10th and got delivery on the 16th. When the damn thing refused to light up after several attempts, I wrote into the CEO who sent me the long winded reply with instructions to load fuel and use.

Now i'm expected to go around scouting for fuel refills even before using the product....!

Feel it's sick for websites to con customers like this as I am not at all willing to go around searching for gas fillers for a purported new product, which came about due to the sellers ineptitude in not warning us earlier. On second thoughts, how many would actually buy a product if the caveat is 'shipped without fuel'?

Draw your own conclusions on this but I have filed for 100% refund. May or may not happen, but if I can stop others from wasting their money on this, I am happy to have done my bit.

Rgds,
