I am not a very great believer in politics, like most of us now, I assume. Yet, being the common man of India, its hard to dismiss the rising problems of the Indian commoner. Price hikes, especially in commodities, is quite an alarming leap in itself from the days of the Rs 250 a piece for LPG cylinders, not long ago. Yet, we march along the roads of a closed (read "Bandh") city in procession with no viable outcome in site, most times without realizing the cause of it itself.
Sometimes, I can feel the News broadcast's resemble the lyrics of those good old songs of our favorite singers. No not for their mesmerizing quality, but because I know what is coming next. Same debates "Every night at 9" sometimes 10, coming to abrupt ends following a shortage of time comment, and a promise to be broadcasted yet again.
Minister's forcibly pushing each others buttons, with an agenda to blame it, if and when the time comes, on someone else. Trivial comments, publicized to be "life or death" situations, eating out on our precious time and patience. And they wonder why we don't have anything but a coalition government.
I wonder what could a commoner like me do in curbing the rising problems of price hikes, overpopulation, and corruption. I guess, there is no straight answer, yet I wish there was.
