Closely following the delhi gang rape case, from 16 december, make me feel what a beast of a kind human beings are. The savages within many frustrated people still are on a hunt for girls, and the reason for such heinous crimes is just frustration and only frustration. There is no satisfaction factor when a guy rapes a girl. So what do we do here? what is our responsibility? How can rape count be minimized or even cut down to zero?
Past few week since the crime, I came across many blogging sites, many posts by girls casting out their voice on the situation. I came across a slogan " NO GUY HAS THE RIGHT TO RAPE A GIRL EVEN IF SHE WALKS DOWN THE STREET NUDE ". Even I agree to this slogan, but the matter of a fact is that rape count won't fall down until government impose capital punishment or even worse judgement for rapist. I strongly feel that if some one accuses someone else for raping, then the medical test must be done to the earliest and if the test proves that the samples are same, then direct capital punishment should be implemented.
Where do we fail in stopping such crimes?
Firstly our government fails here, as many a times even after raping people are set free without any punishment. My personal take on this is that the rule will surely change as time passes by, but when is the question? Till then we can't just wait and watch.
This is a time where woman's are growing by leaps and bounds, company owners, business holders, toppers, managing directors etc. Some people still think that women shouldn't be allowed to step out of the house. huh? With the fear of something bad we can't stop people living their social life and becoming successful individuals. Slowly and steadily time is changing, after few years it won't be a surprise to see a majority held by women's in top 100 successful individuals.
Now coming to the point, why did I pen down this blog? what's my purpose behind this?
Today when I was on my way to office, I saw a girl with a hand bag and dressed in salwar kameez, a proper office attire. As my bike was stuck in heavy traffic I had my one eye on her, she waved her hand as if she wanted to board a BEST best, but ultimately realizing she wanted to board a private bus. The bus had tinted glasses and curtains, this reminded me of the delhi gang rape incident.
She ultimately din't board the bus just cause of the reason that it wasn't going towards her destination. This got me thinking, how can a girl still board a private bus after such a cruel incident in delhi which took place in a private bus with tinted glasses and curtains.
This is where we fail : We should be enough aware of the happening around, especially when you are a girl. Girls are normally weak when it comes to physical strength as compared to a man, so a girl should ensure she has enough back up when she is alone.
Some guidelines that will surely help the girls:
Avoid being late night's out, try to reach home by 9 pm
Always ensure that you have a company along with you always, someone accompanying you. Maybe it be your bro, father, mother, friends etc
Avoid travelling in places where there isn't much crowd. Always be surrounded by crowd.
Avoid private services like bus, lift etc. In order to save some money we are putting ourselves in deep trouble. Better pay extra but reach safely.
Always whenever there is any suspicious behavior by any guy around you, ensure you are equipped or can equip something with which you can defend yourself. A new rule passed stated that a women can kill a guy if the guy is trying to rape the women.
Mixed martial arts can prove to be useful in such situation. Professional training for mma for girls are held.
Always be alert with the happenings around. Be sensitive and use all the senses that can smell danger.
Screaming can also make the attacker panic, as it helps to gather people.
Maybe whatever be the situation, always keep SOS service ON, so that on press of a button 4 times, a SOS message is send out to your contacts.
Always ask for a guy to escort a girl if its late night.
Govt. has started a pick and drop service only for women with a women driver, don't know how much of this is true. But if its true prefer this service rather then using auto ricks, buses, lifts etc.
Govt has released an app too for crimes, through the use of GPS the location can be tracked and within minutes the cops are on the move.
The count of rapes will never go down, its not that guys can't stop raping, its just mad and frustrated crowd turn their frustration on the less on physical power women's.
Such people according to me should be hanged to death directly. Women's are god's best gift and we should preserve them with our pampering and love and care and not hurt them.
Every guy should have the responsibility of escorting a girl safely to their home. It's not only the responsibility of girls but we as guys should step up. I myself do escort a girl if she is late out.
