I am not sure if this is true. I got this information from Net.
There is a Village by the name of Ranavade, 100 Kilometers from Mumbai. This is a self sufficient village. Not even a single farmer in this village has any type of loan from any bank. No one, from this village, has visited court in past 25 years. There is a distance of 10 to 12 feet between any two houses & its a totally clean village.
There is not even one single political party in this village. There in only one shop. Everyone purchases from this shop only. This shop gives credit to the villagers for a maximum of 3 months. After 3 months, accounts are reviewed & verified.
School has been created in this village without waiting for government's action.
