There comes a phase in your life when you are subconsciously interested in various marital issues… I can categorize three reasons for such a state of mind… Firstly, such issues may attract your attention because you have a Son or a Daughter who is about to get married or might have reached that age… Secondly, you will be attracted towards it as you yourself are of that age… And if you belong to neither of these categories but still you are interested in it, it shows that you are interested in gossip… :P
In this post I would like to quote two incidents Oops I mean two weddings which has made me stop and think about certain facts of life when it comes to marriage…
My friend while pursuing her LLB course fell in love with a guy and faced a lot of objection from her family because of the caste differences. Her father went to the extent of sharing this with the relatives so as to convince the girl to change her mind… The girl patiently waited for a few years and finally the father had to give in… She got married to the person she loves and the father had only one choice that was to accept his daughter’s choice.
The second instance I would like to quote is of an inter-religious marriage. Here both the families accepted each other and there were two different ceremonies… This depicted the amalgamation of two different religions, cultures and traditions into One. The families respected the decision of two individuals to come together and spend rest of their life.
Parents certainly play the key role in bringing up the child and making him/her able enough to face the world… When children express their feelings for someone Parents are generally offended due to several reasons like that of caste, religion, social status, society and the list is endless. At times there is psychological reason behind it, they aren’t ready to accept that their Kid is now grown into an adult.
Whatever the reason be the fact is if the parents accept the decision certainly the society has no say in it… The image of the children in the Society/Community is either built or broken by the Parents… Once the parents tackle the whole issue with a little patience and understanding any marital alliance is possible in this Universe.
