Dear Friends,
I don't know how many of you, out there are a Silly Fool like me, when it comes to Friends. Well, don't mistake me, I'm not Depressed or Frustrated over anyone or anything. It just that I want to know WHO REALLY SHOULD WE CALL AS A TRUE FRIEND.
I remember, when I was a kid, I was staying at Bangalore then with my Grand-Parents a little 5 year old tot, with my young Aunt, 15, who used to take me every afternoon's after school to her Friend's house. I would be playing and drawing all over the place with the little chalk piece they would give me to shut up and Aunt and her two friends, would be yapping and yapping like crazy. This Gift Concept was not exisitng there and then and these Friends would be just happy talking and laughing and enjoying each other's company.
Then my parents came and took me to Bombay (then) where I grew up. I think the Best I enjoyed with regards to friends were in my College. We were a group of 4 Friends, 2 of us girls and 2 boys. But we were just Inseperable. Of course, our main job was bunking lectures and going out, sitting somewhere in the college campus and chatting for hours. There wwas no relations between the four of us, except for just being Friends. No Boy-Friend, Girl-Friend and No Brother-Sister. We cared a damn about what others would say about us. We felt that we are JUST FRIENDS, REAL GOOD FRIENDS. And there is no need of bringing Romance or Bhai-Behen ka Rishta in that just to get a clean chit from Society.
Honestly, If today, I can count my True Friends in Life, those 3 College Friends of mine are included on the top of the List. All we exchanged between us was Pure Friendship, helping each other when we had any family problems, protecting each other from the notty world, and enjoying every moment of our Meetings.
Then came the time to finish our College and move on to our respective roads of Life. And really Life just takes you so far from each other, that you never get to see them again, those Precious Friends of mine. All of us married and moved out of town, or settled down in Business. And as I think of them and those days, I'm sure that they too, must be having that Special Little Place in their Hearts, where they have stored a Memory of Mine.
And LO! Look at TODAY ! I can barely get to Number 2 or 3, when I try counting MY REAL TRUE FRIENDS TODAY IN MY LIFE. And if I sit to Analize further, I can't deny the fact that these Friends also of mine today, are Friends with me Only Because of Something That they Get from Me. Be it Business Deals, Gifts, Help, whatever...Unless I keep Giving, they remain Friends. Once I stop for a while, there is a Fight.
SO TELL ME, WHERE HAVE TRUE FRIENDS DISAPPEARED TO?????????
Why is it that to be a Friend, there has to be a Name to that Relationship?
Why is it that as a True Friend, you should be ready to Give Only and not Expect to Take?
Why is it that Nobody cares for Feelings and Emotions today and every Relationship has a Reason behind it?
Why is it that You have a Friend for a while and then they leave and go and forget you?
WHY IS IT THAT THERE IS ONLY BODY AND MIND, INVOLVED IN A FRIENDSHIP AND NOT 'HEART' AND 'SOUL' ????
