My father had a life policy with this rogue company. I, being nominee, filed my claim. They have transfered the surrender amount and didnt even bother to say something about the claim status. They didnt send any rejection letter. I have been trying to contact the customer care. I have made hundreds of call but havent succeeded. They behave like thieves. Beware of these rogues!


HDFC SL Crest Policy [BOGUS POLICY]

HDFC SL Crest is the all time worse policy. Unknowingly I opted for this premium in June 2011 and paid 5 installments(50K X 5) and now the total fund matured and credited to my account is value is 349K. If I could have deposited this amount in any bank, I could have got more returns by this time.


The fund could not even give you a 100K profit with a lock period of 10 years.


My advise to existing policy holders is to cancel your policy once you have paid your final EMI.


In the case of my policy from 5th year until 10th year, the policy made just around 70 K.


If I would have invested the 250K some where else, I would have made more profits.


I sincerely urging to the new policy seekers i.e. do not invest money in any of the HDFC policies, if your money is important to you.


All HDFC policies are bogus policies.

The Best Term Plan

The tern plan provided by HDFC bank is the best term plan.


I will discuss 6 points here in detail:




  1. Claim sattlement ratio: the claim sattlement ratio of HDFC life is almost 100 percent. every person who want to invest in term plan must comapare the claim sattlement ratio.




  2. Number of cases handled: this is also a very important aspact, every person should go through it, its possible for some company having good sattlement ratio but they have actually handled only few cases, HDFC life has already handled huge number of cases with great sattlement ratio, nearly 100 percent




  3. Amount of sattlement ratio: may be claim sattlement ratio of 100 percent of many companies but its possible that amount of that claims are too lesser, check before invest.




  4. Claim rejection ratio: it is a very important aspact before investing in term plan that how many claims have been rejected by insurance houses outrightly




  5. Solvency ratio: it must be equal to more than 1.25, please check this also.




  6. premium: there are many insurance companies in the market who are offering lucrative plans having very low premium amount, but their claim rejection ration and sattlement ratio are not good.






hence, before investing your hard earned mony in term plans please check these 6 points thoroughly, dont get tempt with low premium, in case something happened to you, may be some insurance company does'nt give that cover when your family neended it


top 3 Term Plams after considering these points and after comparing plans of insurance companies:

  3. TATA AIG

HDFC life mis-sold their product mentioning they will refund the GST as I am and NRE and later they came up with several other terms and conditions and finally they rejected the GST refund.


However the sales lady did not mention any such requirement. So Basically hiding information is fraud matter. DONT BELIEVE HDFC LIFE.

I purchased a HDFC life insurance Ulip for which my application was rejected multiple times by some random female who did not know how to read and talk in English. HDFC bank messed up some information in my address and even after mentioning everything they kept on calling me for verification until I could read out the address. They are absolutely horrible. I hope more and more people write about them . They also keep on calling for payment of premium a month before the due date.

While I purchase d policy they are very friendly.


And when policy is matureed they denied the payout due to lack of staff .....

After 6 years of investment, fund performance was pathetic and when wanted to cancel and get my money back. Have been hell of an experience.


Waiting for my refund since 3 months with more than 50 calls to customer service.

I took the policy 2015, paid premium for 5 years after 5 years tried to get our money back. Can you believe I have to beg for my money for 3 months. Too much check even I am a live person now can you imagine if my next of kin to claim this policy I am 100% sure this impossible.


I STRONGLY RECOMMEN SATY AWAY FOR FAKE PROMISES!


AGENT MAKE SO MANY FAKE PROMISES WHEN THEY SELL. WHEN YOU GO FOR HELP AFTER 5 YEARS I AM SURE THE AGENT WILL MOVE TO OTHER BRANCH!

If you guys planning to purchase any life plans in hdfc ..I remembered go with any other life insurance company's.Hdfc life service is not good and knows how theytreat customers.

They are very sweet when they take your money but on maturity they keep asking irrelevant docs and that too multiple times and new sets of docs. Severe delay in returning the money. Highly unprofessional behaviour by a org with such a big name.

My brother has taken two polices of HDFC life, unfortunate he died due to Corona in the month of Sept 2020, After submitting the claim  and all required mandatory documents, HDFC life insurance adopting delay tactics in settlement of claim, now and then asked for irrelevant documents that clearly should their intention for delay. as well as their is no responsible officer whom one can contact,


At the same time all Govt Insurance companies settled their claim within 15 to 20 days.


Its my sincere advise not to go for HDFC life insurance any product

Worst bank ever I have seen. Customer service not at all helpful and very rude. Just to sell anything they behave like there is no one having sweetest toungue on this earth but once you purchase something they show their actual behaviour who they are. I dont know why their calls are not been recorded and why no one js taking sessions how to talk to the customers because they are kust sitting like illitrate people who dont even know anything but just wasting your time and nothing else. They all are worst people I have ever seen and the worst bank


Changing quarterly to annual cycle

It's a painful process to change qualerly to annual process in hdfc. You can only chnage at your policy aniversary. While giving this error , they will not tell you when is policy aniversary or you should come before or after or within how many days, should I pay the last


premium or not.


Below is my learning -




  • one cc agent says you should come 15 days before your policy aniversary and ane month prioir.




  • later got know that if you would have not paid last premium, they can adjust.




  • but if you pay before they cannot recalculate the annual premium.




  • if you these timings and then come next year.




  • they cannot take request anytime for this change, which menas if you miss this year for next year or aniversary cycle they cannot take request...






Highly crazy, in today's world I do not remember my aniversary, but I have to remember policy aniversary for one time change or request... I am trying to do this change from last two years, not wait for next aniversary ...highly frustrating and crazy rule without thinking customer inconvenience.


Wondering what else they have in their kitty ??


Ratings is mandatory here, do not exp of claim settlement..


Inefficient cheats

I been repeatedly following up with Aadhar card details for my address updation for my term insurance with them . They either turn down request or give filmsy excuse why document isn't accepted. They state mismatch but never specify what is mismatch or what needs to be done to get address updated. This is a trick to harass consumer to discontinue his term insurance now that he is growing old and policy is beyond 8 years. Pathetic experience with HDFC life insurance

OMG, I wish I had visited this site and read the customer reviews before dealing with HDFC life. I would not have ever dealt with them and would not have been in this sorry situation. HDFC LIFE does not entertain redeem request even after lock in periods, just to continue to deduct their commissions. its over a month and after 8 times submission of documents, there isnt any action from their site.

They will take your money in the second step of the process and then ride you around for documentation , if you finally get the allocation then it won't be at the nav that you thought you bought it when you paid. I am an NRI and the customer support numbers to reach the right team are toll free they dont even know that we cannot call toll free numbers from here. Why do they advertise catering to NRI. This is the second time I withdrew my application after they having my money for more than a month with no allocation. Rubbish team and shady unfair process.

The HDFC agent misled me into buying HDFC life policy. On maturity, HDFC Life would not permit redemption. It tries its best to mislead you into buying another policy with false misleading information. It has a relationship manager. He is never available for consultation. Finally when contacted, he does not even know who are you. In sum, HDFC life is a programme to loot the public and to run an employment guarantee programme for its relationship managers.

Please Read all Details of Your Proposal Form, They Changed My All Details of My two Nominee and Appointee


I took HDFC life 3D plus Plan, one of HDFC agent is on call for filling Proposal form, He Generated plan online and asked me to login with My Basic details and Procced with plan Generated by him to fill proposal form, As its plan me wants to purchase and filled all details in Proposal form and paid Premium also, and Uploaded documents


Now Starts the Problems:


1) Address proof is Rejected: Aadhar card


(not matching as in Proposal form, )


Now mail to update Address.


thinks goes okay now


When get Filled Proposal form and checked, My two Nominees and one Appointee all details are wrong including Names, Age, date of Birth and Relationship. just percentage of Share is right one.


When called Costumer care the says Sir We cant change anything by our own, Do am dumb to fill all details of two Nominees and Appointee wrong. If its my Mistake it would be in one of the Name spelling or DOB, But here all the Details are Wrong.
