+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

6 months went like that and everyday there was a knock on their doors. In morning, at around 9, Sid would go to Shweta’s house, wherein they’d have breakfast together followed by a long session of music. With time, Sid had learnt by heart, almost every song composed and written by Shweta. She taught him how to sing with guitar’s beat and every other this and that of the music. Sid had also started to show interest in learning to play guitar and was able to play quite a number of chords by himself which made him buy his own guitar. They formed a music band and named it ‘Double S’.

At 1 in the afternoon, Sid would leave for his own house. He’d prepare the lunch, which they’d have together at around 2:30 every day. After the lunch they’d read books till 6, of course with lots and lots of breaks to discuss what they were reading. Since Sid had already read each of those books atleast twice or thrice, he always had answer for each of her questions. It was no coincidence that out of 200 odd books that Sid possessed Shweta also found her favorites among the same set of books - mostly the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez - that were dear to Sid.

After 6, they would sit outside their respective doors and talk, just like they did on their very first meeting. By this time, they had known each and every thing about each other. Sid told her about his dead wife, his son who had gone to city and hadn’t come back for so many months now, how he had grown used to living lonely and had no hope of ever coming out of it until she came into his life. Shweta told him all about her dead husband; her life in city; how, in the hope of overcoming her husband’s memory, she moved into the new house; how she formed friendship with solitude and had no hope of ever coming out of it until he came into her life.

They had grown quite used to each other and except for the night time, almost every single hour they spent in each other’s company for the last 6 months. They loved spending time together. They liked each other’s company so much that they had accepted each other’s hobbies and interests and have made them their own, initially to impress each other but later out of sheer interest. They liked cooking food for each other and taking care of each other whenever they fell ill.

They were enjoying it - their life together - so much that slowly and slowly they had started to think of getting married. The day they felt that the likelihood of marriage is quite vivid between them, every other day afterwards they discussed about things concerning it.

And after 6 months of knowing each other, they, Sid at 56 and Shweta at 50, finally decided to get married so that they didn’t have to part at night and spend almost 10 to 12 hours in isolation without each other’s company.

6 months back, someone had knocked at their door and that was the incident which resulted into their strange meeting that lead to a loving relationship and which was about to take the form of marriage in days to come. They had no idea of who had changed their life forever 6 months back by knocking at their respective doors. They talked about it quite frequently, made lots of guess, and sometimes doubted each other for the same but to no avail. Though unaware, they were greatly thankful of that someone, who had changed their life on that fateful day and had a mutual opinion about who it was: ‘It was God’.

P.S. : To Be Continued, with 5th and last chapter
