The hope that drives

By: aazzeem | Posted Jan 25, 2014 | Mobile | 6243 Views | (Updated Dec 21, 2015 12:18 PM)

Have you ever seen the eyes of an idle cobbler sitting on the roadside resting his coarse but tough hands on his knees?, Or have you ever noticed the eyes of a bicycle puncture repairer when he sees here and there while working on a puncture?, You must have seen the eyes of a beggar definitely and surely checked out his gait with a judging stare whether he's deserving enough to get alms from you!. Anyways! Till now it seemed to be a gloomy picture. Then I ask last few questions; Have you ever seen the face of an expectant mother? One more; What about the eyes of an office goer? Or the young girl, obviously someone's beloved, sitting on a park bench and tapping her feet, endlessly looking in every direction now and then? There's hope that drives everyone towards his daily bread or something special or someone special. The cobbler, whether you notice or not he notices each and every shoe that falls on the street and every time the poor fellow hopes that someone will stop to get it mended or polished or stitched, whatever. a few do stop by the end of the working day, his luck works and the same can be said in view of the lady whose sandal's heel just got unglued a few yards away from the cobbler, both of them find relief owing to each other's presence. Same is the case for a puncture repairer who keeps an acute eye on every passing tyre and can assess which has the correct air pressure and which needs a correct air pressure. His hope doubles when school children come out in flocks passing his muddy kiosk and a few stop by for his services. The beggar judges you and you judge the beggar!. Both have their respective reasons. An expecting mother holding her man's arm and smiling exudes such spiritual calm, you can't see on anyone else's face not even on her man's face. Nature has made her the source and the nurturer, her responsibility can't be explained in words, her's is the most superior role and her happiness is ultimate. Then comes our best friend the office goer, the commuter, more respectably we can call him a bread winner or just and employee(Well! it is the truth. he's a servant), his hope starts with the first week of the month and ends at the date of salary and this is a vicious circle, his eyes are the most gloomy of all, in the morning he wakes up as if doing a favour to himself, boards the bus, reaches office, works endless hours and gets peanuts by the month end to remind him that he's not a free willer, however for a few moments his hopes of watching a movie with family, getting new clothes for wife gets fulfilled but what remains as his ultimate calling is his service to a company, who in the name of human resources has bought him for peanuts. This, my friend office goer is the most gloomy being of all. He's a nobody yet everybody. Lastly the young beloved impatiently waiting for her lover who might be some office goer(What the heck!). But everytime she raises her brows to look here and there, there's a hope of union in her eyes, the hope makes her wait, the hope of a happy future makes her stick to the office goer lover(Do you think if our friend office goer's life will ever change? From where will the happiness come, but anyways he has happiness in the face of his beloved, she's his hope that drives him to keep on and carry on the struggles). All the illustrations I gave are interconnected and there are a million of other such too. The point is that no one knows what lies in future but hope keeps us on the feet towards our goal, nature is dynamic and so are we supposed to be. We are here to be progressive not a sleeping log. Every morning is the same but it's upto us what we extract by the evening from the day we lived. Sloth(laziness) is a sin. A lazy person is a burden to himself, his family and in contemporary world, he's a burden to his company. He's digging his own grave. As the famous Hindi saying'Alas buri bala hai'(laziness is a bad attribute). A sloth has no hope. For those who are hope driven, here are my best wishes and for those who still have to get out of bed, have a look out of the window, go for a walk, you are bound to get the spark of life. Because lack of hope is lack of life.
