While Honda has been doing very well in the sedan section, Honda Jazz has been proved to be a dud in the Indian market and with Brio making no serious impact on the market. it is necessary to do something little off the track for reviving its falling fortunes in the Hatchback section, for it is the most lucrative section in the Indian Auto Industry. Recently there have been various rumors about a new Civic hatchback which is stated to come to India by the end of this year.
The Civic hatchback has earlier been released in Australia and has seen success there. While they have taken a long time to introduce diesel cars in India , they have claimed that diesel will be their topmost priority this year and most of the cars launched will have a diesel model during the initial release itself. Along with that they will also focus on Hybrid technology and they might release a diesel cum hybrid variant for the Civic hatchback.
Honda which recently launched the Amaze with a diesel version right at the launch and is planning to include diesel versions of the all its existing cars including Honda City, CR-V and the Jazz (which has been currently discontinued). Along with the Jazz there will also a compact SUV (the name hasn't been revealed yet).
You will find the specifications of the Australian edition of the Hatchback (all the variants) here :
