Many of us, who are not proficient in the last two fields, have watched lesser gifted (or more gifted – depends on the way you see it) guys gets the plaudits for the work done by us. No MBA teaches the art of sucking up to your bosses and it is basically an acquired/inherited art. Sycophancy and nepotism are rampant across both the public and corporate world. The law of physics applies to many places of work and the sad truth of life is – iron sinks to the bottom while shit floats up to the top.
