Chalo, let's go on the trip of North Goa. Let me tell you the order by which you can cover all the beaches of North Goa. Let me start from my mausi's home. That is Verem, just near to house is a Church, called Reis Magos, a white painted typical Goan Church, you have seen that church many times in movies. See that and head towards the farthest point of one side, i.e. Aguada (pronounce as aagwad) Fort, the fort used for water storage basically, and while roaming there, you will certainly get the feeling of Dil Chahta Hai! (Well, I too confused between two spots, where actually those 3 guys posed!). Near to that fort is a lighthouse and a way towards sea, go there, and you reach at a picnic spot, there's a rock (the Socha na Tha rock, where Abhay and Ayesha sat!), and it is basically a kind of hill, so you can go down and touch the sea by your legs (But be careful of cops!), there are remains of a wall (kind of fort remains!). We actually from there went directly towards Sinquerim beach (don't try that way), there's a dangerous pagdandi over that hill from that rock towards that beach, and only one guy can go at a time (width!) because this side, steep hill occupied by a luxurious hotel, and that side is sea (see!) with rocks! Instead you can try Aguada Jail, in the way of it you can observe a house (once a house of big smuggler!) and that house is also shot in (I think!) Haseena Maan Jayegi as Govinda's and Sanjay Dutt house.
Sinquerim beach is marked by a stuck-up ship. Actually that ship comes upto those shallow waters and stuck up there forever (I am seeing that ship from over 3 years still there!). Follow the coastline, and you can reach to the most famous beach of North Goa, the Calangute beach (pronounced as kalangut), the busiest beach of North Goa. Go on, towards Baga Beach. There is full market with much anticipated foreigners and local bheed!. You can enjoy parties there (at carnival time, nov-feb) at night, but ask me, and continue your journey to see more and farthest beaches, go on through Goan interior roads (Goan roads are just beautiful, from one road other is not visible). Go on and visit the beauty of other beaches like Anjuna, Vagator and Morjim beaches. Near to Anjuna or Vagator beach (sorry!), there is a gully that lead to a hill, on the top of which there are some fort kind of remains (yes! actual place of Dil Chahta Hai!), nice snaps you can get from there, of whole Goa, and sea ofcourse! Morjim beaches has a speciality. There are natural-formed water pockets at the beach, you sit in them, water felt warmer, and when your sea-wave came, wow! Go upto Arambol beach (if you can find it!), and tell me about it.
One experience just forget to share. Once we are searching for Coco beach (near our house!), but that was monsoon time (that beach didn't show up at that time, sea level you know!), so searching interior roads, we actually reached another point, and that point was just a wow! point (it was the last spot, no roads ahead!). Also, you never felt like you're in India, mainly because of 3 reasons, the houses pattern, the clothes local wear and uncountable foreigners. See the photo in my photoes section. Two photoes shown here are of Aguada Fort remains below that SNT rock, and of the stuck-up ship at sinquerim. One more one more! We are coming in night from some place back to our home on bike, and some roadblock was there. My cousin told me that he knows the other way, and you know what where we stuck up. Full night, idhar Big sunsaan haweli, udhar big sunsaan houses, in front a jungle with live orchestra, we just turned our bike fatafat and ran from that total sunsaan place! P.S. Beers are cheaper in the interiors!
