So, 2011 is also coming to an end, so is one more year for Bollywood, which has seen so many ups-and-downs in terms of music and films. We saw so many good movies, some bad ones too, some are good time pass, and some in which it is hard to pass the time. But what about the life of these movies - the music, since it is the music which comes first on TV, and create a buzz about the movie, and because of which many of us came to theater to watch the movie. So, here I am presenting some great songs of 2011, hope you liked them too, but first a disclaimer below-:
DISCLAIMER: These songs which I chose all belongs to movies released in 2011, and they are my personal favorite, hence it can be different from your choices. If that is the case, then just read the review as a timepass, do comment, and if you don't like my choices, no problem, write your review!!
I have just rated 5 songs in count-up manner, rest I cannot rate and are equally good, and I liked them.
Sadda Haq - Rockstar (Nov 2011). This movie is directed by a hit director Imtiaz Ali, whose earlier movies has good songs, so expectation are sky high for this movie too, and what else! you have a AR Rehman to satisfy your music needs. And he recreated the music by this album, where all the songs are gem, and owns a place in your library, but my favourite composition is 'Sadda Haq', sung by Mohit Chauhan. Mohit sang this brilliantly giving the extra rock-style voicing, singing it hard as per the demand of song, with high beats and great guitar-work by Orianthi, which just sets the tone of a 'freedom-kinda' song. Lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil that suits the genre.
Aye Khuda - Murder 2 (July 2011). As expected from a movie from Bhatt Camp, and which has Emran Hashmi as lead, this movie too had a good music, and this is the best composition of the album. Music by Mithoon, written by Sayeed Quadri, and sung by Mithoon, Kshitij Taarey and Saim Bhatt, this song is a nice song which is depicting the situation about the main hero who is seeking support of his God, whom he doesn't believes before. Mohit Suri, the director, has used the same kinda situation in his earlier movie Aawarapan, with the song 'Tera Mera Rishta Purana'. A slow song, with nice hymn of tune with the feel, is what this song is all about.
Bhaag D K Bose - Delhi Belly (July 2011). Well, well, this song was dubbed as the best youth anthem of this year, because of its https://lyrics. The lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya has done a great job by penning some cunning lyrics for the movie, and said much by saying nothing. If you sing this song backward, you'll get a famous Indian Bad Word (which is also a place in Pune, you can find autowallahs shouting the place name at Corporation Bus Stand!), and because of which this song touched the popularity charts. Ram Sampath has given the voice and music to this fast number, which depict a running situation, where the main cast of teh movie is running from Don.
Ooh La La - The Dirty Picture (Dec 2011). Hmm, now here's a movie which was based on a South Indian Erotic actress Silk Smitha, hence movie required many expose scenes from the main heroine of the movie, and not only this movie demands some sensuous songs as well, and this was one of them. Bappi Lahiri, gave the song a feel of old 80s era, when the actual character existed, and his voice was just like sprinkle on an already classic product. Shreya Ghoshal too add her best effort to match with Bappi Lahiri in the song.
Chhammak Chhallo - Ra One (Oct 2011). Well, this song also took the hearts of so many Indians, with a never-heard-in-Hindi voice of Akon, an International superstar. Many may not liked this movie, but many liked this song, which has all the beats for enjoying and dancing. Music is given by Vishal-Shekhar, and sung by Akon, and Hansika. The best thing you like about the song are the beats and Akon's voice, it looked like another song from Akon's album, just the lyrics has some Hindi and Tamil words. Lyrics has been written by Vishal Dadlani and Niranjan Iyengar.
Now, the rest songs which I loved are as follows-:
Ek Manzil from Soundtrack (Oct 2011). Sung by Vishal Vaid and Music by Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale, this song is there to hear, and have nice lyrics, and good composition.
Dhunki Laage - Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (Sept 2011). Neha Bhasin had sung this song in the perfect rock manner, like the female Mohit Chauhan of 'Saada Haq', music given by Sohail Sen of 'What's Your Rashee' fame, and penned by Irshad Kamil.
Senorita - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (July 2011). This larger than life movie required music that suits the soul of the movie, and hence came some good soothing numbers, my best is this one, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, penned by Javed Akhtar, and sung wonderfully by the 3 lead actors - Hrithik, Abhay, Farhan and Maria del mar Fernandez.
Nadaan Parindey - Rockstar (Nov 2011). The climax song composed by AR Rehman, has all the mixx of life, it has beats, like life's ups and noteworthy lyrics like life's downs, sung beautifully by Mohit Chauhan.
Gaye Tum Gaye ho Kyon - Dum Maaro Dum (Apr 2011). The starting is melodious slow, and slowly it went high, with all those energies charged by, sung beautifully by Angaraag Mahanta, and music by Pritam, while soulful lyrics written by Jaideep Sahni.
Other songs I will mentions as in a list, do listen them if you haven't listen. These 5-10 and remaining songs are equally good. The list is as follows-:
Dhinchak Zindagi - My Friend Pinto. SIngham Title track. All thesongs of Chillar Party. Teen thay Bhai title track. Karma is a Bitc* - Shor in the City. All songs of Haunted. O Baawre Sun to le - Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Shera Di Kaum Punjabi - Speedy Singhs. Desi Boyz Title track. Hawa hawa and Jo bhi main - Rockstar. Still there are so many songs remains, which I haven't mentioned but are nice ones.
In the last I want to mention, that there are some songs, which irritates you to your soul, and you feel like 'If I got the composer or singer, I'll beat them up." So, from me this award goes to Damadamm album. Have you ever listen (I am sure you do, because, it's easy to miss good songs, but you can never miss bad ones!) the song "No Touching No Touching, Only Seeing Only Seeing" who the hell was singing these line, I'll kill you. It's the actress Purbi Joshi herself, please don't try to jump profession like Himesh Reshammiya did, otherwise you'll lose whatever you built!. And one more "Tere Jism Ki Khusboo mein, pyar ki madhusaala mein", Saala! Himesh Reshammiya.
Now, the biggest hit of this year, which belong to a movie releasing in 2012 - Why This Kolaveri Di? - from upcoming Tamil movie 3. Sung and written by Dhanush, and Composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The song doesn't need any introduction, as can be seen by record number of clicks on its video on Youtube, obviously the tune and singing style is catchy (although I didn't think it's so great!), and hummable, and is already super to super-duper hit. Do listen it too, you too will soon started liking it. So taken my review's title from this song - Rhythm Correct!
