Sometime site Like OLX and quikr can be quickest way to irritate people. Although they give a platform to sell our old products, people often choose to misuse it for the sake of fun! This is not a review though, I am just sharing my today morning experience.
In my regular search of Smartphone for me, I keep visiting olx hoping if I find good phone at better price. Taking second hand smart phone is not a good option, still a smart move can help us get good product. One need to be very careful in this.
My eye was caught by an adv which said, "Nokia Lumia 720 for 8000, 2 months used, very good condition, no scratch and price negotiable." I found this quite fishy as I had come through many such post earlier but often ignored it. Still, this time, with a Positive thought, I gave a call.
First time, the phone was unanswerable, So I just dropped a message, saying, "Sir, I got your number from OLX, have you sold your Nokia Lumia 720? If not, I am interested in buying. Please Let me know.
Till next one hour, I got no reply. But while I was about to go to class. It was the same person calling me back. When I received it, I got to realized right moment when I heard his voice.
Somebody had made a prank on him, and he was just irritated of this way. I accidentally was one among many to ruin his morning. Poor Man! I tried to explain him that somebody has kept his mobile number in olx, but he hardly could understand what I meant. He was asking me to remove that number, but I could do nothing. The only thing I could do is to delete his number from my call list.
There has been many instances of misuse of number while using olx platform. Few simple steps and you can irritate a person without letting them know who is the culprit. There are times when many boys keep the number of girls attaching with high quality product in cheaper price. They do with whom they want to give trouble.
So in one hand while it is important to keep our number safe and undisclosed, especially keep one personal number which can be given only to your close friends and family circle. This will always help us to limit the connectivity without interrupting it. On another hand, I strongly believe sites like OLX should display the number only after it is verified.
