The foremost news channel watched by me is WION news. It is a good channel freely available on you tube.
While the programs are good, their advertisements like promoting their own Channel, Climate trackers etc. are very repetitively boring and ugly. I have seen their climate tracker advertisements showing shocking scenes. Well, Climate changes is made to shock but at times you could also show and inform what is global warming, what is carbon footprint and politics behind it, what is Azerbaijan Climate summit debacle and host of climate information rather than blaring and shocking people.
Also, we rarely get to see the presenters who are a part of advertisement for WION promotion if you are watching in evenings and in specified slots. It is a nice suggestion to involve the presenters in promotions, whoever is relevant at that slot.
At the same time, if a month has passed since a promotion, would it not be better if there was a change? Instead of persistent old ones.
Side by side who can forget to see Palki Sharma in Firstpost. She is one good package for an hour or so where she seamlessly mentions the entire world’s information that is necessary at that hour. But she has also fallen for sensationalizing a particular issue that I cannot forget.
While WION was getting it right on Syria with updated news, Palkiji was sensationalizing it saying that Assad forces will retaliate sensationalizing it and there would be tough fight. Whereas in end as WION said the forces did not fight but it ended up a one-sided fall of government. This pinched and was evident and exposed Palkiji to me when the sensationalizing it was unnecessary. WION is Live, but Palkiji is an old video on YouTube.
However, as I said before Palkiji cannot be missed when we watch the news or are getting updated on the world.
The other program I watch is Black and White by Sudhir Chaudhary on Aajtak which is also available on YouTube freely. While his internal news and opinions are great. That is what is going on as a hot agenda in country, but he is polarized at times. So much hatred for a particular community in one case made me stop watching him. Apart from that episode he has maintained the wave in the country. But I would like to say that, please do not publicly present the opinions which one may hold close to heart in some cases. When you are at the platform where you are you must try to disseminate harmony and not the evident bias.
Rest I cannot stand the clutter and blaring of promotions on other channels. And where is the word soft and serene in News? I wonder. It has gotten lost somewhere in the race.
Mostly I watch these programs on weekends and have been for a long time staying in Abu Dhabi. I hope the suggestions are taken only to improve.
