Now the essence of writing this blog is to not to displease our deity but the very fact as to why a religion is becoming a business in this part of the world?
Is our "Andha Shraddha" being the reason for us to not to retaliate or accept it a Generally accepted principles in our society?/Religion?
There is one temple (I am not purposely naming it) where to light a piece of camphor you will have to buy a ticket to do so! Why is exactly do I need to pay anyone to see/visit my own Creator - My Almighty!
Is that we fear God, and as a fact whenever such authorities impose some tickets, we obey them since we feel that if we reject them then may be we are insulting our Gods?
Or do we feel that "Its OK to pay them since that would be treated as a Donation and that our money will be used for good purpose and thereby we would get blessing of our Deities? (Or else NOT)
Again, if I pay something does that mean that I am off my problems and now have become good in the eyes of God despite continuing my behavior and character at my discretion? (Am I bribing GOD?)
Once I visited a temple along with my sister (Not naming the temple) and the cop on duty realized that we are outsiders. He made us skip the line and took us straight to the doors to have special darshan. I was happy for a while, but wait....the same cop came following us and asked for some bribe. Reluctantly, I gave him Rs.100 and he almost got angry! He saidSir, line mein aate toh line mein hi hote ....Humara bhi khayal karo...Give me 200 more!
At many temples, we would realize that the coconuts/flowers that are presented to God are returned back to the shopkeepers and they keep rotating all day! (Where is Bhakti/Shraddha here)
I am an open minded fellow and believe in Humanity as the foremost religion. I have visited many religious places in India along with my family like Amritsar, Churches in many parts of India, Mosques (Planning to visit Ajmer in January) and what I feel is that the only thing that God expects from us to be is to be HUMAN.
The above experience doesn't went well and instead of getting some answers I got few more questions to answer. I am not against any ritual at any temple or for that matter at any religious place, but may be the spiritual context of visiting such places is different now.
I want your comments and your take on this matter... Counting on my MS family to respond...
