Yesterday evening, when I was returning from work, it started raining heavily and my slightly
broken umbrella (I've been postponing mending it for some time) broke more! The wind blew hard,
as if testing my poor umbrella!
I started running towards my building and made it in only after some black muddy spots decorated
my dress. I was frustrated to the limit.
Thoroughly irritated, I was unlocking my door, when a group of kids aged around 5 to 8 years came
up to my door. "Didi, can we please decorate your door?"
I was perplexed! I didn't believe my ears. Amidst the rain and lightning, my mind was in a whirl.
"What?" I said not knowing how to react.
"Actually we are decorating our building for Independence day. We wont put much, only a leaf and
a couple of flowers."
My frustration melted away into a smile. I thanked them and stepped back for them to proceed.
They cutely stuck a leaf and flowers on the door, and ran away, totally contented and happy.
Independence day is a month away! Their innocent minds believed that this "decoration" will stay
till then!
Kids! They have some power!
As it is rightly said, "Spend more time with people less than the age of 10 and more than the age
of 70 to get a dose of positive energy."
