In India Festivals have their own importance. Yesterday was `Teej` for me which is marked by having fast for 24 hours even without water for husband`s well being and long life.
It was not yesterday, but a day before yesterday. I was with my `Mehandi` Cone. By the side of me was my four year Punya ready to imitate me!! Lady instinct, you know...
The Mehandi was put in one hour and me and my daughter slept after taking due precaution so that it does not get spoilt. Next day, I just got up at 0430 and had my Breakfast as much I could so that it becomes easier for me to sustain without food and water for the next day and slept again for one hour.
It was holidayfor both my daughter and my husband. I was already in an energy saving mode. My husband who is a poor cook made Sunfest Yippiee for himself and my daughter who got up late had just milk. Afternoon, I visited one of my neighbor to have Mehandi in other hand too. It came much better than it was put the last day. I showed to my husband his name written on my hand.
He said, `I feel special today`.
By the evening, it was getting tougher to sustain without water as it was very humid being the rainy season., But a Puja was arranged in which five married ladies also participated on my request. I received a real active support from my husband who kept managing all children of the neighbors so that they do not disturb while performing puja.
Then we visited a temple near by and came back early.
Then came night 9 PM. It was indeed getting tough. My husband made me stronger by saying, ``When going gets tough, tough gets going``. But by 1030 it was indeed tough and upon knowing this my husband hold my hand firmly and told that I keep laying down and watch an interesting movie so that I remain engaged.
By 12 AM exact I was given water by him which he himself gave me and assisted me in drinking.
I slept and got up at 0430 and after bathing etc had a Puja and at the endI poured water at my husband`s feet and seek his blessing considering him as God. He got emotional and we both felt that our bonding has become more strong.
