The Other Day I was flipping channels and I came across the IPL Commentary- Guilty self confession- I got attracted to the Cheerleaders dancing on a Bollywood number in the Studio. Secondly Sunil Gavaskar. To say that I have hero-worshipped him in my very initial years when I used to go all starry eyed with my Uncle for a Five-day in Green Park in Kanpur; would be an undermine! I still recollect that one time when I wrote to him and he wrote back to me with an autographed pic. Woah! I kept that Letter till it was tattered in edges. And here was an Icon cracking Lame jokes with Siddhu !? What in the world did happen to a Guy much above all, dignified and supposed to be a stalwart. It’s a huge pressure to fill in those shoes of being an Icon, a Leader, a Protagonist whom world follows! But such is the sadness of Life that somewhere along the line you have to get off the pedestal and behave like any. Being a Siddhu is like always being one, but being a Gavaskar and maintaining it definitely takes a Lot more than required.
If Sridevi was what she was to yesteryears and known for all her immature acts, never did I expect an English-Vinglish happening to her and many other Indian women. For certainly I know at least one, who decided to walk tall and get a job for herself- since she realized that her respect in the family was zeroing; after watching the movie. If such is an impact of one movie, one protagonist, how much does it take for a celebrity, a person affecting the decision of the Society- people around him to keep the Flag up!
Last what I heard somebody was dumping me with the fact that, how much does it help to speak, post updates, protest, demonstrate- with extreme regrets I affirm with him. If I post an update and go for a demonstration- and leer at the first available option (women, clothed-less clothed-girl-boy-child-animal) then of course there is no point in even putting myself in that category. That out of all that was rolled in form of information, only the abuse is that makes the first mark, or for that matter plastic stuff! Is it about Mind which prefers Grey over Black and White- or that being Neutral is much easier, safer.
Blame is much Easier to pass on then taking a Responsibility! And if you by any chance Happen to Be a Protagonist- the walk is on Hot Coals, you can’t deter, you can’t turn backs and this is about it. Like it or Not.
