Mr. Ministers,wake up.

By: kdrocks | Posted Jul 27, 2011 | General | 843 Views

It was 7 in the evening. My employee returned and said that when he was locking our warehouse situated in a building in the opposite lane, he heard an explosion and the building shook for a while. He said when he came down, he heard some people saying that some LPG cylinder had blasted in the adjacent lane. I received a call from one of my friend in the vicinity that some three blasts had taken place in the city at different places. The last blast that took at Zaveri Bazaar is just a 2 minute walk from my office and hence the explosive sound that my employee had heard was that of a bomb and not of a cylinder blast.

My heart goes out for those who were killed in these explosions. I am mightily saddened for the people who were killed and for those too who were seriously injured by the blasts. The manner in which the innocent people were killed and injured was ghastly. A faint hearted person would definitely have collapsed on seeing the gruesome wounds and deaths faced by some.

After a while the Government machinery, (the junked machinery)sprung in to action from their long undisturbed and unperturbed sleep. The Police, the forensic people, the intelligence, the pot bellied and the pseudo vivacious leaders of all parties etc started pouring in from all corners giving condolence messages, offering ex-gratia etc. I would like to say to these ministers that Hello, wake up, do work, real and honest work in this context. Instead of giving just false promises to the citizens of the country for years, do something concrete. Only giving examples of terrorism creating havoc in other countries also is not going to resolve this grave issue. Let me state that after 9/11 attacks in the US, there hasn’t been any terrorist incident over there. China is a big country than us still they know how to efficiently combat and crush terrorism. Even the terrorists are terrorized to commit their terror acts in these countries presently. They commit these acts here convincingly because they know that our country is largely indefensible and they can easily sneak out too after committing such dastardly acts. Even if they are caught, the weak laws will ensure that their life will be saved. Our defense and foreign minister should arrange a trip (not a pleasure trip) to observe and study the stringent action, policies and the strict laws that are being enforced by these countries to combat and counterattack this menace.

I have pertinently observed that after every terrorist attack, the Government authorities declare a slew of policies to curb terrorism but sadly majority of these policies are only declared and not implemented and hence we, the common man in the end have to ready ourselves for another possible terrorist attack in which we never know whether we may live or die. Is this the life we want to live? Why are the authorities leaving us at the mercy of the terrorists? Why are there only talks and no action for years? What are the authorities waiting for? What is stopping them? Still how many people have to die to open their eyes and conscience? I challenge these politicians to come out in the open and roam outside in trains, buses, taxis etc without any X, Y or Z security. Mr. Ministers, do try this and then you will come to know about the fear of death with which the citizens are living in this country. When a common man leaves his house in the morning for work, he or his family is not sure whether he will return back in the evening safe and sound. This is the situation that has emerged due to your weak policies and laws. Your lethargic and lackadaisical approach is claiming many innocent lives.

Mr. Ministers, wake up before it is too late. Stop playing politics. Stop our country from becoming a terrorist’s heaven. Let the people live carefree without any fear. Isn’t it our right as the citizens of our country? Are we asking for anything that’s impossible? Already the citizens are burdened mercilessly by the inflation and corruption among a slew of other problems and it is a crime that amidst all these things he has to fear for his life and that too every day. Why?

If these things continue to happen endlessly then the day is not far when a revolution will take place which will overthrow every non working bureaucrat and minister from their posts and show them their right place. Everything will then definitely change for the good and I hope and wish, that day is not too far.

Peace, tranquility and equality to all.
