That was a time in 2004. I was in Agra. That time I was un married. But few of my friends were married recently and one of my friend was married for last four years. He was SP Singh.... a gem of a person, humble, honest and hard worker. We both were serving with IAF.
He was trying hard to get selected as a Bank probationary officer. Her wife too, was down to earth, cute and a friendly person.
She was Reena. But, I do not know why, instead of saying her `bhabhiji` in a `traditional` way, I called her Rina Didi. But, I felt quite easy with that. Even she never opposed this.
I have two sisters, but I was away from them as they were in my home town Ranchi. On `Rakshabandhan` I was little sad, though I was in possession of the `Rakhi` sent by my both the sisters. A call came from Rina Didi to come to her. I went there and was greeted with a simple but beautiful rakhi. I became sentimental and gifted him Rs 100 which see accepted with a lot of request from me.
Next rakhi, I did not receive any call from her. I was expecting it. I was restless till in the evening, she came with her husband to me and said a genuine sorry. She told that just now she was coming from New Delhi from AIIMS. She had gone for some regular check up as she did not have kid for last four years.
I was a happy person again.
Next year, before rakhi, she was blessed with a healthy daughter and Mr SP Singh was selected as a probationary office in Union Bank of India.
I get calls from her even now, without fail, on `rakshabandhan`.
I miss you didi. God bless you and your family always.
