“Please don’t leave me, I will change the way you want, I love you baby” I was almost pleading.

“No this time I am not listening, All you care is your career, your money, your house, your car, your bike, your friends and I am nowhere in your goddamn list. You don’t have time for me and I heard it n number of times that you are going to change, but you never wanted to. I got a good job at Delhi and I am moving out”. Nina said while packing her stuff. We had a live in relationship for last two years.

“All passengers are informed that due to heavy fog and snow fall, the outbound flights from Brussels International Airport will be delayed by four hours”. The loud voice in the intercom brought me back to the reality. I saw the big digital clock in the overcrowded airport and it said 7 am local time. I saw it was snowing heavily outside of the huge glass walls of the airport and all the runways are covered with a thick layer of white snow.

It was a blessing for me from the unknown above the day my boss told me that there was an opportunity in the onsite and I had to work from New York for the next six months. I just wanted to get out of my house where I searched and found Nina everywhere right from the bed, at the kitchen, at the bathtub once she left me. So I just wanted to run away from her memories. Yes, I loved her a lot but maybe somehow unknowingly ignored her too.

I arrived Brussels this morning and my next connecting flight to New York was delayed by four hours. I was bit tired due to the last eight hour of sleepless journey from Delhi and so I closed my eyes to get a small nap.

“Excuse me” a female voice waked me up. A pair of very brown eyes were looking at me.

“Hey, I need to use the washroom…could you look after my luggage for few minutes please” from her sweet accent I knew she was not from any English speaking nation. She was an young girl, she had the most brownish eyes I have ever seen, she was fair, curly black hairs, not very tall, about 5’2’’, thin and yes she was a cute looking girl with a dimple in her cheek and another in her chin. She was not gorgeous, but bit cute and child like.

Without much thinking, I said “no problem”; she thanked me with a smile and walked towards the washroom which was not very close from my seat. Once she vanished in the crowd, all those drug trafficking stories started pouring in my head. I heard young girls were used as drug carrier, and I started feeling uneasy. An Indian was arrested from Belgium for drug trafficking. No I don’t want to make a headline. I cursed myself, why the hell I believed an unknown foreigner.

Thankfully she again appeared in front of me and thanked me with a very big smile. I was not in a mood to return her smile and just nodded my head. I saw she was still standing beside me. Actually there was no seat available in the lounge due to the cancelled and delayed flights. Suddenly I realized that I am occupying one seat with my luggage. I placed my luggage in the ground and signaled her with my eyes to sit there if she wanted to. She sat beside me and my body language and mood must be very negative, she did not dare to say another "thanks" to me. The tiredness of a long flight and above all my heart break must have made me look like a real loser.
