Just wanna dispel a few false notions
Jul 07, 2004 11:43 PM 6594 Views

I have read all the reviews given by people on xbhp.com. I have been a member of the same site for almost 7 months now and I must say that I do agree with a lot of the negative points offered in the reviews written.

However, I am willing to stick my neck out and defend all those negative points, except for the one on the front page of the site being too crammed because that is absolutely dependent on how often you visit the site, which enables you to easily figure out what is where. Anyway, first of all I want to address the comment that there are too many jazzy graphics and too little content.

Look, I want to make one thing very clear for anyone who is interested in even remotely trying to understand what the site is all about. Motorcyclists all over the world (and I am not talking about people who ride 100cc bikes or hanker about fuel economy all the time) are regarded as a separate species, and the reason for that is not too hard to find. Each biker worth his salt will tell you what motorcycling is really about. It can't be described or explained, not even by the most articulate person on the planet.

It can only be felt and experienced, and only on a motorcycle worthy of providing such a feeling. I may be sounding too complicated, but there is really no better alternative to this. Only a true blue biker can understand the underlying feeling of being at one with his machine. And bikers ARE very emotional people. Emotional about their machines and their own abilities aboard those machines (whether this is right or wrong is irrelevant since I am only making facts known). No true biker will back out of a competition or challenge, no matter how insane it might be(I again repeat the previous sentence in brackets). And that really is the key to xbhp.com. Bikers get together to discuss their problems, views and ideas. Anyone who says that the site doesn't have REAL content hasn't bothered to explore the site. And please make it a point to note that technically speaking xbhp.com is a FORUM, NOT A SITE. It's a place for people to present their views.

All topics of discussion are archived, if only you have the inclination to look for them. And the topics of discussion range from the mundane to the really technical ones. There is a tirade of information available on how to modify bikes(yes, it is important to lots of people to improve their bikes!), from cosmetic mods to ones that actually have a bearing on the overall dynamic ability of the biike. And trust me, these articles have been written by people who actually know what they are talking about, and not by some nincompoop trying to brag his way to glory.

As far as there being excessive rude talk on the site, I think I have already explained who bikers are (love them or hate them, it's upto you), so it is quite obvious that tempers often do run high (although I must say that this particular point has really been exaggerated and blown out of proportion by someone who maybe visited the site only for a short duration of time).

As I said, I have been a member of xbhp for 7 months, and the only times I have seen an argument brew is when the topic of discussion veers around towards a comparison of motorcycles belonging to the power-segment, consisting of the Pulsar 180/180 Dts-i and the Hero Honda Karizma. But really, this is to be expected since anyone who has bought such bikes wants to feel that they have the best bike in the country, and will go to great lengths to prove it (again I say that the method chosen is irrelevant; after all this is not an international corporation that requires everyone to be politically correct. A forum is where you speak your mind.). The fact remains that if you are a biker at heart, you WILL understand what xbhp.com is all about. If not, I'm sorry but you can never understand THIS way of life.

A special mention for a particular review's author: If u are a female, as u claim to be, what were u doing on xbhp? That's not to say that the fairer sex isn't allowed there or that xBhpians despise their presence, but it's not usual for girls to waft around on a bike site. Secondly, if u were genuinely intereseted in browing the site for pure bike based interests, I guess you didn't do it, for reasons that have already been discussed in the comments section for your review.

So it really doesn't make any sense for you to create such a brouhua about the ethics or grey matter of the moderators (webmasters as u call them). And thirdly, don't bother to talk utter nonsense about people u have no idea about (yes the webmaster and his allies), because to people who know, it doesn't matter, and those who don't, don't matter.

Good website but horrible community
Jun 25, 2004 01:34 PM 4855 Views

As far as programming and site functionality is concerned, xbhp is a very well designed website. The programmer has done a good job. There's lots of photos, and forums and news.

However, the main problem with xbhp is its user community. A lot of the posters, especially frequent posters, are unbelievably rude and pig headed. In fact, their attitude makes you wonder what the youth of today has degenerated into. They seem to be hell-bent on pushing their point across, have not even a concept of respect or politeness and seem to have a large amount of pent-up anger which they let out on this website.

Spats and insult throwing are common, and triggered easily by even minor dissent.

Basically xbhp.com was earlier known as bajajpulsar.com and hence its largely a community of pulsar motorcycle owners with a sprinkling of owners of other motorcycles thrown in. I feel it was better when it was honestly bajajpulsar.com so it was true to its purpose of being a website of owners of Bajaj Pulsar and did not masquerade as a website of true biking enthusiasts - because it is not a website of biking enthusiasts.

Its mostly Pulsar owners insulting and happily dissing other brands - such as Yamaha, TVS, Kinetic, LML sometimes Hero Honda too.

If someone on the website, in a minority, would like to buy anything other than a Pulsar, highly vocal and rude posters will slam other bikes.

It is a pretty sorry state of affairs. I think the programmer of this website should revert back to its original name of https://bajajpulsar.com and let it be known clearly that this is a pulsar owners website!!

The Lounge for Wise Men

Well it all began when I was searching google for karizma vs dtsi 180.. I got the hit on the site and that topic was so HOT HOT.. it was so intresting to see people share their experiences.

For a forum site... I fell it has every thing you want,, You get your questions Answerd or ur doubts clarified., But this is not a site for ppl who have no intrest in any thing.

Posting in the forums makes u feel more wiser as u see others post their views on the same subject.

Its a whole diffenent world out there. cos the Guys meet,., they have fun. They get to geathter at times.. and it is always fun to be involved in such a comunity. Because.. Your voice will be heard to 1 and all of the memebers when u have a thinhg to share.

Be it a Silly joke or an intresting news, you have aroud lots a ppl lookin at your posting well that feels good for me. You always get encouraged and that s what ppl are lookin for around. Even tho the things are a lil tossed out at times, I never close the XBhp window onmy machine...

So that's my experience and I like the site and the maker.. Sunny.

XBHP changed me ... !!
Jun 01, 2004 06:54 PM 4410 Views

Hi2all,

I am not new to this ''mouthshut.com'' & the same goes for ''xBHP.com'' too !!!

Basically, I am a Car-lover & not a serious bike-lover ... but always remains on the prowl for more powerful & better things in automotive world...!!!

Although my ultimate dream machine is a ''Porsche Carrera GT'' ... now it is accompanied by a ''Kawasaki Ninja'' & a ''Yamaha R1'' ...!!! COURTSEY: xBHP.com ....!!!

xBHP.com helped me a lot in polishing my 14years of driving, riding, racing & handling skills ... !!! Thanx 2 xBHP.com

On this site, there are some real hardcore bikers... who knows bikes inside out & how to modify them & how to achieve max power & economy & a combo of both, etc.

The most happening real-life (not virtual) attraction thru this site is the ''G2Gs'' or ''get-togethers''.

In these G2Gs, menz r separated from boyz, real bikers r distinguished from so-called bikers...!

Even I am a ''so-called biker'' (infact, just a scooter-er!!!)...!

Several ''Superbikes'' attends these G2Gs regularly & performs some serious wheelies, burnouts, etc. And a lot of throttling vvvvvrrrrrrroooooooommmmmmm....... vvvvvrrrrrrroooooooommmmmmm....... !!!

xBHP.com is a free site & you can register in just a couple of minutes & start zooming in style with its special t-shirts (@ special prices) ...! You can buy CDs, pics from G2Gs, videos, etc.& EENNJJOOYY!!

Now, there are some flaws in even such a nice site !!!

1.There are many 'under-aged' bikers who have yet to get a driving license !!! And they are posting about their silly stunts in which they don't bother about their own safety & that of others too.

2.The site is full of animated gifs etc. & it takes ages to load the page completely.

3.Mainpage is too confusing ... something should be done ASAP to avoid others going negative about this very page .... it takes really too long to load...

4.In index on mainpage ... recent posts gets lost under new-er posts in no time!!!

5.Same topics are repeated quite often under a disguise ...!

6.It is mainly a bike site & cars are a rare thing on it...!

BUTTT... these flaws are negligible & doesnot alters the main content of the site.

This site really ROCKS .... !

I would like to give it a rating of 9 on a scale of 10...!!!

Keep it up ... xBHP.com!!!!

I have been a member for a long time (ID ajith, Earlier tyke). Came here to review it because of an explicit request on the home-page.

Most biker forums are abt attitude, adrenalin and testosterone as is only to be expected since this is the place guys think they can be guys. They can flex some muscle and generally be what they are, guys.

This forum started with very good intentions. I have been around when Sunny was still building it and I have seen the way it went to the dogs. People just couldn't take it lying down if they were told they were wrong. Everybody and anybody would fly off the handle if they were kidded with. I was no different (I hope to god I am better now tho). I saw things stabilize and now there are some sane folks who keep the place running between them.

As for user-friendliness, the pages are graphics heavy and a pain to load. Text is not so readable and the dark background does not help too much. But not a problem for those with wide-band connectivity.

Three points come to mind here with regard to the forums.

Site owner and Moderators: Most moderators are level-headed folks. People who are here because they are in love with this. Also because they enjoy the responsibility. About Sunny, well he is a very nice guy.... usually. Does the web administration very well. Brings in new features regularly, generally keeps you on ur toes. Good graphics and good business sense. Any help you need is immediately taken care of. However, I honestly think his ego has been bloated by excessive and false praise. Has attitude problems once in a while and cannot stand rejection or ridicule. So far I have not had to bear the brunt of his ire tho :-)

Discussions: Technical discussions are few and far between. Very few are really fired up by technical stuff. 99% of the discussion is about cosmetics and cosmetic modifications. Which is also good in a way. There are very few forums where this is discussed so thoroughly.

Members: Some sensible folks. Some immature kids. But variety is the spice of life and it takes all types to make this world.

Final Note : Those who are going to comment on my review, do take the time out to search for my posts so far on the site. I am just an average joe and no extremist. I said it like it is. If you dont like my review, be civil and let me know exactly where u think I am wrong. Please dont give me juvenile comments like the ones I have read on other unflattering reviews.

The bike which claims to be the big momma of biking sites ... but do I need babysitting ??

Frankly a website though aimed at bikes is not that relevant to biker content. Jazzy graphics take priority over actual content.

The site sees a lot of traffic but sadly it is hardly moderated. Most of the people who try to moderate the content get kicked out cause the moderator does't like to be chided. Most of the site traffic consists of :

  • ''Thank you'', ''That was great'' replies. Mostly 1 liners.

  • Infighting about which bike is better. Once is okay. But almost on a regular basis new topics are created with the same flaming

Also it seems that the content is over exaggerated there. Its a case of being your own praiser over there.

The front page is very confusing and seems like a lot has been dumped there. It takes sometime to figure it out.

Hi guys

Honestly speaking from the very first time I clicked this site I couldn't believe that some one can be so passionate about bikes.

He's the man (sunny) the inventor, its an amazing site with lots of info about new machines reviews, value price comparison new arrivals picture gallery etc.

Yearly GTG (get togethers) makes it not just one more dumb site in the quee but makes it lot more interactive and gives a chance to meet speed maniacs (so called members) to know each other and live their dreams fully and I wanna add on here that bcz of xbhp lot of guys hv seen or be the part of some special events such as trip to himalyas, or trip to tibbet, or himachal those are some wonderfull events organised timely by xbhp, and many a times we got to see thoes dream machines (SBK) in real in delhi xbhp has arranged few speed fests too where most of us got to see thoes fast machines roaring on delhi's roads in real.

Wonderfull work by this passionate man

And all on his own ya its free for all

I wana thank this fellow & wish him luck for future.

Apr 15, 2004 11:34 AM 1696 Views

It was a day, when I desperately look for solutions for my problems on the net. On a friday morning was looking for a website that would give me insights about bikes performance, Mods and get me close to people who actually think and take care of their bikes the way I do.

To my surprise, when I joined XBHP, there were many people who actually did take care of their bikes more than me. People who knew about bikes technically, exactly what I was looking for as I am a freak but not an engineer. XBHP covers every aspect about biking. Let it be day to day in city mileage forums, to doing mods for getting power performance through ur bikes.

XBHP covers everything on two wheels may it be our two strokes or four strokes. We get to meet people who provide exact info about parts available and how to get them on your bikes. It's actually a mouthshut for bikes.

Any new bike just login and you would get info abut its stats in the market as well as on the road. Well overall a very good looking as well as amazing site for bikes regarding information and every other aspect about bikes.

Another such site dealing the the legendary RD350 is rddreams.com

XBHP all the way!!!
Apr 14, 2004 03:37 PM 2154 Views

I stumbled upon this excellent website, about a year ago. I had bought a new bike and had some minor but important problems which needed to be fixed. Even when I posted my queries, I was not sure if they would be answered. But xBHPians rose to the occasion.

Ever since then I have been addicted to this site. It is a great way to share knowledge about bikes and other vehicles. The site caters to a wide variety of audience, from commuters and students to professionals and SBK owners.

Just a couple of months, the site had a facelift, and things have looked pretty good with new sections added.

This is a must-visit for every bike enthusiast. The xBHP community is surely catching on.

No matter what jane_tam or py81 think about this, I have written a frank review about xBHP. I don't care if they give me a NR rating. People find it difficult to trust someone. Maybe you could find it easier to distrust me for nothing!

Simply The Best.
Apr 14, 2004 02:36 PM 1265 Views

Hi everyone,

I came across this site last year while searching for some info on bikes.

Site is based on Snitz forum.

The info I got frm this site was complete and articulate. The site has a good graphical design and the content is just off the hook.

Anything you want to know about bikes u will get it here at this site fast and easily and the info will be reliable. Any info any news related to bikes and cars, u'll get it here.

Members of this site are very helpfull and basically reflect a biker's view on things I have always been a bike enthusiast but I did not know many ppl like me untill I came across xbhp.com.

It's a very helpful community of knowledgable people. My info abt bikes before coming to xbhp.com was nothing compared to what it is now after becoming a member of xbhp.com.

Whatever knowledge I pocess today abt bikes I owe it to xbhp.com. Site also has a visuals section in which u will find exclusive pictures of most of the superbikes.

Exclusive pictures of superbikes in india and their owners can also be found here.

Lots of enthusiasts post abt their experience, their problems and they get the satisfactory replies from the members who are very knowledgable.

Download stunts done on indian bikes by members in the download section.

Modification section will tell u what u can do to better the look, the performance of ur bike.

News section as the name suggests has the latest info.

Excellent site with all the info u can ask for....

Just a graphical designers showcase
Apr 14, 2004 02:11 PM 2450 Views

Least info abt bikes n biking...more abt stuff which hardly any of those members in India have... day dreaming site as I see it..

No club rules, dictatorship applies, anybody tries to justify is blocked/banned...

Just a well designed site to cover up all the crap inside...

LoL and yeah I was the only female member there and they had a problem with it as well!!!

I expected enthuastic guys on bikes who ride a lot across the beautiful country side... instead its just a bunch of day dreamers who sing songs abt sports bikes all day when the percentage of the guys who have superbikes and cars is hardly anythin, so far I had just met a guy who had a R1.

It would be better if they talk n flaunt what they have rather than dreamin abt stuff, and get into what that matters, biking!

The guys over there also suck, some novice riders who just commute to work, college everyday and call themselves bikers..

They put some decals on their bikes etc, some cosmetic stuff on bike, and boast as if they did a great technological feat on their bike... I guess they following their webmasters footsteps...

Hope I find a site what I am looking for not a kitty party site for heavens sake!

Review : THE site is Xbhp.com and this site is definitely the momma of all indian bike sites... I am a member of this site and I know why I became member of this site coz it gives all the info reagarding bikes as well as cars and they give info abt indian bikes and cars but also abt imported bikes and cars ..in this site you can write your own topics and people read and reply to them and u keep in touch and communicate with a lot of people and I mean a lot...

In its first year only this site had 1000 members! and from then this bike community is growing ..it is also spreading its wings in other countries also many members are from abroad. the members of this site solves queries and problems of the members. And side by side gives details abt cars and bikes what to buy and what to not this site has numourous forums and the navigation of this site is user friendly also with clear fonts and display and moreover the membership of the site is free and there is not money needed to become a member of this site.

So I conclude by saying that it is the BEST site giving information regarding bikes and cars.... and you meet a lot of people and ineract with them and I tell you this site will grow grow and grow.

Amazing & informative Site
Apr 14, 2004 11:30 AM 1412 Views

I went to Xbhp.co when I was planing to buy a bike for myself ( it was then known as bajajpulsar.com) it helped in deciding which bike to go for ( I have a pulsar 180 DTSi) I even get to know that the DTSi is coming 2 months before the launch & the pics even before the bikes had hit the showrooms

All and all a very informative site helps u in answering lotsa automobile queries & its great place for knowledge sharing so mush that even a novice can become an expert :)

Surfing the site is really a breeze it has well defined sections, so a person knows where to go looking for solutions to his problems & if its not there post it himself.

There is also an off topic section which allows you post stuff which may not be directly related to automobiles but may be of interest to the auto freaks.

All and all a well knit community with an amazing & very helping Administrator & moderators.

The best indian bike site, period
Apr 14, 2004 11:22 AM 1884 Views

Well xbhp is the best Indian bike sight till today. It?s very informative, with all the forums and topics that one would never find for these Indian bikes on any other bike site. All one needs to do is get registered to this site. The site has some great visuals. Sunny is the person behind xbhp and is can say that he has put an enormous effort with this site.

I remember that day when I was searching the internet for some cool indian bike sight so that I could have a little fun talking about the bike and stuff. I landed in xbhp. Till today I never regret that moment, and probably never will.

One can read topics, reply to topics, see some cool pics... ask questions and query other people. This sight has helped a lot of insane minded bikers to come together on the net and off it.

It?s a great way to meet people with the same wavelength as yours. Me ans some other members of Xbhp have just met through this sight and new we are about to start up with a really huge club.

Xbhp: get the best advice
Apr 14, 2004 07:32 AM 1789 Views

When I first started getting really interested in bikes I found it difficult to get in touch with guys who had the same adrenaline craving - too few of them around and almost impossible to find on your own. The only way you met a fellow biker was at a red light drag and then you almost invariably parted ways after always getting the better of each other! So when I heard of Xbhp at my mechs shop from a guy getting his Pulsar serviced, I decided to check it out.

My first impression was that of amazement. I never thought that XBhp would be so well laid out. It was a planned site and that caught my fancy immediately. And there were (and still are) some mechanical wizards who'll give you the right advice for the right question!

Although I did find the site a little biased towards the Pulsar and the Karizma (of which I don't think much) things later on got smoothed out and I was very happy to find some hardcore 2stroke junkies around!

But the best part is that through Xbp I found not a few guys to meet up with and talk bikes, ride bikes and breathe bikes in my own city! That is something I gotta give Xbhp absolute credit for!

Overall, the site has really really grown since its conception and it's worth a dekko at the least, if you are the sort who likes to FEEL what its like to ride at 110kph, trust me, you won't be disappointed!

XBHP Rulez
Apr 14, 2004 02:26 AM 2976 Views

XBHP Rulez. I think these 2 words ?ll give you an idea what I'm going to write.

Some time ago I have been not a biker type guy who used to hover

around much on bikes. I am not saying that now I am a Biker but xbhp.com have changed my point of view towards bikes. I now love riding my bike, taking care of it and go around on it.

The topics on xbhp.com are just superb. To enlist some of them are :-

a) Modifications ? Wow ! this is my favorite section . There are so much articles there on what the best we can do to get; that extra out of our bike, to make our bike stand out in the crowd. These articles are regularly update, infect there r soo much articles there with all the pictures, videos and price list, mechanic contact info for various cities and not to forget expert advice ..

b) Download section ? U might have seen many stunts, wheelies, stoppies on foreign bikes but there r multimedia content of all the stunts done by members itself and on Indian bikes, that makes me soo much happy.

c) RD Section- Well any die hard biker?ll dream of that machine, yes I am talking about RD350. There is so much informative content there starting from early 80?s RD advertisements to RD Engine diagram, Wire layout diagram, maintenance Tips etc. This section also provides info on RD mechanics, spare part shops etc.

d) Get togethers ? How many a times u?ll see Superbikes in India and that too in masses. Honda CBR, fireblade, goldwing, Yamaha Fazer, R1, R6, V-Max Suzuki GSX 600, hayabusa. Phew!--- I am just amazed to see all these ikes for the first time in my life at ?Speed fest? held at Noida .Xbhp.com regularly conducts G2G?s for all the members, where all of us can sit down and have a chat, go on ride in mass Wooooo ! 100-150 bikers at same time.

e) Coverage of all Indian Automobile Events : - I bet you can't get a deeper coverage even on TV. Starting from the Auto Expo at Pragati maidan Delhi to Drag meet at Mumbai u get all the incisive news regarding wots making news, whats coming, with all the pics and videos exclusively taken by xbhp cameramens.

f) Inside news: - He he this is the best part. Xbhp members regularly post pics of automobiles been tested especially bikes. They provide the inside news by regularly visiting Bikes Manufacturing units. Well howz that for inside news that Hero is working on a 300 cc bike that will hit Indian rods

In the end, I?ll suggest xBhp.com as the best site I have ever come across.

New Delhi India
Avg site with good graphics
Apr 14, 2004 12:36 AM 1581 Views

Well designed site where you can chat about everything, doesn't matter if its related to bikes or not.

Nothing interesting for bikers people hardly go for long rides. Long rides for people are: Mumbai to Lonawala, Poona to Mulshi hohoho.

Need to improve the quality of contents.

Wonder about the technical qualifications of moderators. Lots of flaming and abusing on the site. Too many duplicate posts. Discussions frequently go off topic. Lots of rumours and crap claims like some 223cc CBZ, CBZ with a Karizma engine. Every time I read the thread can't stop laughing about the ignorance of the moderator who made such claim.

Cool videos anf images but people performed stunts without wearing protective gears and gave silly excuses to avoid wearing them. Disclamer in stunt videos as performed by experts wonder what made them experts.

Thanks to too many images the site loads little bit slowely.

The site is designed very well but I wish the contents quality was as good as the design. This is an perfect example of ''everything that glitters is not gold''.

Just superb
Apr 14, 2004 12:30 AM 1234 Views

This is my first article in this site and I dont know the rules and regulations that needs to be followed out here in this environment. So, if I err in any aspect, I am sorry in advance.

xbhp.com is just superb site. It is the best site I have ever enjoyed. I am not telling these things as I am member of it, rather it is the best site for bike enthusiasts. ''xBhp.com - The momma of all Indian Bikesites!'' this quote proves that it is for bike enthusiasts.

Believe me, just log in and then you start enjoying. You can express your views, get diferent informations and go on seeing pics and videos of different bike stuffs. It is being maintained by its administrator Sunny! and he been doing a great job and he runs it quite peacefully. So, I grade it as the best site ever seen.
