Urban Legends.com is a very unique site! (You are better off reaching it by going to Snopes.com or Warphead.com for some reason now)
What it does is take all the stories that somehow spread like wildfire (some true and some false), separate them into categories like, Animals, Books, Celebrities, Classic, Death, Disney, Food, Drugs, Language, Legal, Movies, Politics, Sex, TV, The ugly truth, etc., etc., etc., and then lets you know which ones are true and which ones are false, and sometimes, even they don't really know!
Some of the Legends, or rumors are almost to absurd to ever think they're real, yet thousands and thousands of people hear it and spread it around. And as it spreads, little by little it changes and morphs into another new story.
For example, there is a story (totally untrue!) about a young lady whose father put her in a convent and told her that she can leave the convent when she gathered 1 million postage stamps, new or used. This story spread around London, England and the convent where the young lady was said to be locked up, received thousands and thousands of postage stamps every week!
Another legend, (this one all true!) is about Coca-Cola and the Nazis. During the 2nd world war, the Coca Cola company continued to sell their product to the nazis, because Coca Colas belief was that they would sell to anyone regardless of who they were. This made a lot of people really mad at Coca-Cola!
The place I like to read most of all is called, The Ugly Truth, it's an area where dozens and dozens of really strange and odd, 100% true legends and rumors are listed.
There is also a new message board where you can post new rumors you've heard, or you can post odd/strange/funny true things you think people might be interested in, and you can also read what others write.
There are also some links to other site where you can read of other strange stories that keep you wondering if they are true or false.
If you have a few minutes to spare, check out this site. But as I said, try to access it through Warphead.com or Snopes.com. You won't believe some of the things you read!
