While going through a terrible experience with them right now. Its 11.07 am (4 July 09) at the time of writing. I happen to be a frequent flier using almost all airline brands across the country. (I usually book through yatra, makemytrip, ezeego or directly on airline site).
And what a mistake I committed. I ws swayed with their super low rates. Take for example, while yatra.com or makemytrip, etc were charging something like 2, 000 per passenger (Indore-Mumbai), these guys said 1, 500. Hurrah! I was so happy and boasted to my wife that I'd save 1, 000 for two passsengers. That was 3 July 09 around 11.00 pm.
I booked two tickets from Indore to Mumbai for 18 July and two return on 22 July 09. Someone called me up from travelchacha.com at 11.50 pm (yesterday night) to confirm that two tickets (four passengers) have been booked to which I said yes. He thanked me for using their service and that the tickets will be emailed to me in the morning.
Had a great sleep after such a wonderful customer care! At least there is someone in India taking care of airline passengers.
Come morning, and I got a call from travelchacha.com that I shall have to shell out 1, 000 extra per passenger totaling to 4, 000. When asked for the reason - this is what was given to me - I had booked the tickets yesterday, hence the prices were applicable till yesterday only. Because the airlines will charge additional from today, I shall have to pay the same.
I told him - gentleman (really, I said this), but I hve already paid you the price you had advertised on the site, and I was provided tickets by you, which even now I have with me saved in Word format. He was admant, saying that the prices were effective till yesterday only, and that your tickets were issued today (4 July) when the prices have been hiked by airlines. I got so angry with this situation that I not only asked them to cancel my tickets, but canceling my trip too.
Stay away from these guys, who may charge you more the very next day under any pretext. Luckily, I never had any such experience with other online portals or airline sites. Someone has rightly said, you get what you pay. I tried to pay less, and see what I am getting.
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
