COVID pandemic came in March, lock down started and all travel programs were canceled by Govt of India, mandating refund of all advance payments by all travel agencies.
We started calling MMT after lock down started at the numbers given in the receipt sent by your no-reply email of Feb 16, 2020, 124 4628747, 124 5045105 etc and got a recorded voice telling that the office was closed due to lock down and call later.This happened many times during the year 2020.
Called the hotel on 03 July 2020, Milan said that they are paid after the guests checked out. So the money is with MMT and not them.
I live in USA and managed to get back there on a special flight in Sept/2020 but our team member Soma tried to contact MMT personnel during 2021 with no luck.
With pandemic over I came again in Kolkata in 2022 and finally caught up with somebody on phone who initially said that Sunflower Hotel was paid and it is too late to try to recover the money, ignoring the fact that we could not talk to anybody from MMT before that time with repeated attempts. Attempt to convert MMT's delay in responding to our delay is fascinating! However, on pursuetion a case was entered with reference number 14879296248504960 but it was not decided in my favor.
Please refer to the email correspondence with the above references with Dipsikha Ghosh and Abhishek Laha during March/2022 and note that:
1) In Dipsikha's mail of March 14 the reference to my cancelation request is an incomprehensible nonsense in view of the historical fact that all cancelation after lock down was by government order and no request for cancelation by me is in MMT's record
2) Abhisekh's Mail of March 15 reads like a fiction to me with made up things like my cancelation request, date change, Hotel policy etc. The only issue here is MMT following Govt order to refund money paid in advance, due to COVID.
I refuse to belief that a reputed company like MMT will unfairly deny me a legally due refund. So the conclusion is that the money is still either with Sunflower or any employee of MMT. And somebody from you should investigate to find it out for the sake of your reputation, apart from the fair treatment of a customer.
