WORST JOB SITE!!!!!!!
Jan 04, 2018 03:57 PM 16523 Views

Hello friends! I am sharing my views on job portal that is Elance.com. It is my real experience that I am sharing with you. I registered on this website about 6 month ago by adding some details then they shown to me many jobs but that is not of my matching criteria then they offered me that if you want more good jobs you should become a premium meber that is paid plan then I used paid plan. after that they offered the same jobs that is in free plans. Nothing is good job there. This is not user friendly and not a good service website. Also time to load is very slow. information is very less and also content is not updated there. After that I did not used the services of this worst job portal.

I came to realize approximately this internet site thru a mentor. I went to lodge in which the consultation is going on a way to work at home. There has been a mentor who is explaining about a way to work at home via a website referred to as elance.Com. Elance.Com is platform to earn money by way of running from domestic. As an example if you recognize a way to write content then you could technique the website and can discover the situation to write the content material. Hundreds of clients will be there who will submit the jobs which can complete working from home. They submit the roles and offer some greenbacks in which we have to bid for it, if they prefer our previous works, revel in and profile they invite us by using accepting our inspiration. We've got to complete the work in given term and they may release the amount they promised. There is no danger to break out both aspects. It’s a clear and proper web site to work. Anybody in accordance their skill can whole the work.

Lance.com, a name which first came on my mind not by own but by seeing on the internet aid. I saw it to be a profit making site sitting at your home by writing, graphics designing, web page designing and many other different job.

So I too wanted to do so and who does not. So I was not the special one and created myaccount on it to earn but unfortunately to tell that these sites are nothing more than frauding you and make their own money by pay per click which is the main motto of themselves.

So I would request you people to go in detail before registering for any websites while surfing on net which would ensure your safety and maintain your privacy

ELANCE is a BAD company- dishonest freelancer
Nov 24, 2015 08:39 AM 28699 Views

I hired Brainstorm Force in India through Elance who was dishonest with me and deceived me. I hired them to help me gain internet presence and rank higher on search engines but I found out that during the time I hired them, I was never listed with any search engines. No one could find me! I didn't pay this freelancer to have no one find me on the internet! I couldn't believe it. I have proof that I was deceived by this freelancer and had to hire another company outside of Elance to fix this issue which is a big deal because I had to shell out more money.

I called Elance and tried to get my money back but their process for refunding my money after funds are released through escrow is nonexistent. Basically, you won't get your money back even if a freelancer deceived you and it was fraud! Read all the reviews.  Elance doesn't refund money.  Even requesting for a refund after a job is closed is pretty much 0%. It is up to the freelancer to refund my money and I'm 100% sure they will not refund my money. Elance has no process for dealing with fraud after escrow is released and since I didn't know much about search engine optimization, I believed the freelancing company I hired. I believed they were doing their job to help me succeed.  BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART. I'm just sorry I hired this freelancer and I'm even more sorry that I went through Elance.

I want to get my hard earned money back. I will not recommend Elance ever and will never use them again.  I don't even care if they close my account.  I submitted a bad customer review to BBB and BBB rejected my review because Elance complained and BBB sided with Elance.  Wow, is this what the world has come to where customers are wrong and the large companies who make millions of dollars are right? Unbelievable.  I won't stop until I get my money back and if I have to write bad reviews of Elance on every single site out there, I will.

A hard slap to Elance
Nov 07, 2015 12:24 AM 20673 Views

I got back my money from this sh*t called Elance. I was also frustrated by my Elance account suspension and even after a 1 month of email exchanges they were still holding all my aishwaryasingh23ment amount and it was more than 6000 USD which is a good amount for me.

Finally I had taken some steps and got all my money from different channel. I just don't want to post the trick here as it may be visible to Elance bulls*t people. If anybody is interested to know I will be happy to share the trick in personal message.

How Elance crushed my soul
Nov 05, 2015 03:11 AM 30184 Views

I used to be a writer. I thought I was anyway. Now I'm not so sure. I mean, I've yet to publish anything. But I thought it would happen eventually. I knew I needed more experience, so I decided to freelance. I stumbled into the world of ghostwriting purely by accident, and boy was I sorry. I learned the hard way that my writing IS worth something. I have value as an individual and a human being. But, in the early days of being an unemployed writer, I was naive and had doubts about my self-worth. Attempting to carve out a writing career was never going to be easy. But after 6 months with Elance, I'm ready to throw in my keyboard. My experience was humiliating, exhausting, and so soul-crushing that I'm tempted to give up the career altogether. Why?

Elance may be a good way for a fledgling writer to gain experience and to add to their portfolio. But if you're ghosting, the work will not be your own. Clients want an NDA, so you sign away your rights to YOUR stories, or rather, their stories. So you can't add it to your portfolio. Also, most clients are based out of the country and are notorious cheapskates. Even if you have a going rate, they won't honor it, so be wary. I wish someone had told me. But this was my first paying job, so I was grateful for peanuts. More like pebbles, really.

I also learned some clients like free stuff. Some will ask for a writing sample before considering your bid. Don't do it. They're just fishing for free material and won't hire you anyway.

Budgets are not absolute. It's just to tempt the fishies clamoring for the worm on the hook. It  may say$500-1000, but what they really mean is "I'm too cheap to hire you for that amount, so I'm going to pay you 100$ for the first 20k story and if I like it, I'll hire you for more work."

Most of these ghostwriting jobs are posted by people too lazy to write their own stuff. Some are incapable and keep asking YOU for story ideas. They may provide an outline, but usually it's so bad you have no choice but to deviate. They say there's room for creative freedom. That's only because their story sucks and they need a talented writer to fix it on the cheap. They like naive, inexperienced writers with no knowledge of the industry. It may a good way to earn pocket money, but Elance takes their cut. So a 20k novella earning you$100 becomes 91 bucks.SIGH

The ratings system is made to destroy your soul. Five-star ratings mean nothing. They will attract nothing$80 dollar jobs intended to send you to the ER. Too much work for too little pay. I'll pass.

Most jobs are pitiful, pathetic excuses to tap into the cheap E-book market. Horny vampires and inhuman Amish robots(a client ripped me a new one for daring to instill human emotion into her Amish androids) seem to be the steady diet of Kindle owners. GET A LIFE!

Too many 20k Amish novellas WILL destroy your faith in humanity. I get they're Amish and used to certain behaviors. But having no character development, emotion, or humor of any kind is sure to induce your readers into an incurable coma. Apparently, readers want women  who are butter churning nuns who spit out a kid every other year, and the men are as about as much fun as barn siding. Okay, I QUIT!

Clients are nit-picky and demanding. "The customer is always right" should not be spoken in my presence if you want to live to see Christmas. One client was great until one day, months after the work was finished, she sweetly requested ALL stories to be re-edited with an expensive online editing tool and to write up 200 word summaries. This was after the initial stories were sent during the writing process and delivered with no complaints. For the extra work, she was kind enough to tack on an extra 100$ onto the initial price. That's 100$ per 20k novella. This was five I was to complete. She'd leave you alone for a couple of days, freak out out of nowhere about why you hadn't gotten back to her, and then ask why you were doing such and such. I had to explain the character's motivation. I felt I was speaking to a five-year-old. If the character doesn't do it, it won't make sense. She also thought she'd just won me at an auction; always asking who I was writing for, what I was studying.

I just write for you. I don't answer to you!

Months drag by. 20k a week becomes mentally draining and physically exhausting. You don't sleep. You're not eating. You spend hours on editing and re-writes. But you CAN afford a few luxuries like an premium Oral-B toothbrush, but it's just pocket change when you think about it.

The shine starts to wear off when you're being tapped for 80$ jobs that are clearly not worth your time. Another client shows up wanting you to write 8k word erotic paranormal novellas.for 55$ apiece. She gets her quota and you never hear from her again.

Some clients don't care about the writing. It's just content. The more the better. They seem nice in the beginning. They assign you a 3-story Amish romance. You have full creative freedom. You send an outline, the first few chapters, but they're not interested until it's finished. You're quickly tiring of Amish and tell them so after the last assignment is complete. YOU NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN!

Good riddance.

Towards the end of a 5-story vampire novella, you're coming to the startling realization that you HATE writing this stuff. Your work begins to suffer. There's no motivation. It's just mundane story after mundane story. You lose the will to live. By the way, that unfinished novel you sent in to a publisher just got rejected. Have a nice day.

You make the difficult decision to quit Elance because it's quickly becoming apparent that you're being used. You wrote all this stuff and can't use it in a portfolio because you signed the rights away as a ghostwriter. The clients don't want to pay your going rate. They're demanding extra work that you didn't agree to. One flips out and curses you out over her  Amish romance story. They were young. It's the 90s. She also saw no problem with her  studly widower farmer hooking up with his widowed sister-in-law. Hypocrite much?

"How dare you make them seem human! I hate you! Delete everything I sent you. Why does this keep happening to me?" says this client.

I'd tell you, but I don't use that type of language. But apparently YOU do. And I thought you lived in nice Amish neighborhood.

Depressing days ahead as you cancel your account, delete clients' stories, and come to the realization that working on Elance has made you HATE what you used to love.

This is the most I've felt compelled to write in the few weeks since I quit.

Big deal.

And just try cancelling a job. That's a slow trek through a desert full of red tape quicksand. The client has to agree to it! If they don't, you have to finish or they'll threaten to escalate and take legal recourse.

All of this for 20k Amish novella with no redeeming qualities. Go figure.

Elance.com is an online platform.for freelancers to work from home and earn. It started the online staffing from.the year 2006 and in 2014 another platform O desk.

And Elance joined to be named as Elance O- desk. As I am a freelancer I joined with many staffing platforms.

Like freelancer.com, worknhire and elance.com. elance gave me thw opportunity to work at standard economical and premium marketspcae catering yo the experience and pay.

Several jobs are posted but majorly of foreign clients so I faced many issues like work timing, work done but payment not received, no proper work explanation and many more. The guarantee of pay was not there so now I left the work with Elance but loyal.clients do come back to me for my work and pay me heafthily.

Hi Friends,

Here I'm writing about elance.com it's a website for the people who looking for freelance jobs. Anybody according to their skill they can choose the job and they complete the given job. I came to know about this website through a mentor. I went to hotel where the session is going on how to work from home. There was a mentor who is explaining about how to work from home through a website called elance.com.

Elance.com is platform to earn money by working from home. For example If you know how to write content then you can approach the website and can find the subject to write the content.

Thousands of clients will be there who will post the jobs which can complete working from home. They post the jobs and offer some dollars where we have to bid for it, if they like our previous works, experience and profile they invite us by accepting our proposal.

We have to complete the work in given time period and they will release the amount they promised. There is no chance to escape both sides. It's a clear and genuine site to work. Anybody according their skill can complete the work.

Coming to my part I'm doing some content writing jobs here on elance.com and earning money.

I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine when I was looking for some extra income and knowledge by picking some project.

It is an excellent site which has some genuine people from all over the world. It has many projects listed on it, you just have to browse it according to your skill set. You have to register yourself which is free of cost, do spend some time in making your profile so that it can attract more people.

Till date I have got 3 project from elance which were of great value. The payment system is also verified which gives you guarantee.

Elance.com lost its charm
May 29, 2015 05:54 PM 41809 Views

I have started working on elance, only 2 years back. I was mainly working for my projects for other 2 leading freelancing sites since 2004, and they kept me overloaded with the projects. Now in 2012, one of this sites was closed and merged to the other site that I already was working with, hence I opted to bid on elance  to increase my working horizon.

I set up a nice profile with elance mentioning details about my experience, working  portfilo  and also wrote about my new start up web development firm.

I placed my bid in most effective and professional way as per elance standard, wrote nice proposals to the esteemed clients but to my dismay I hardly got any private message from any of the buyer. Earlier, I used to hear from my friends that elance is ideal for web development firm as big scale projects are often posted on it comparing to other freelancing sites.

But, I  have not faced any positive experience on this site till now. I am experienced enough and sportive enough to win or loss a project. Spending a long 13 years in this industry, somehow I can smell the trend and happening on any freelancing website. But, to my utter astonishment, I have seen 99% of  the projects that I placed bid  got frozen and ended with no result. So, with in 3 months, I have lost interest.

I am not ready to put my energy to a site that is not showing any kind of positive sign where as I get lots of projects using other online resources.

So, I am not recommending elance, if you are super lucky you may get a project in a year or two, but overall I do not think it to be a long time working platform for any freelancer for any web development firm. So, I am not recommending it.

ELance sucks, just a horrible place to be
Feb 21, 2015 02:43 AM 43112 Views

After about a year of freelancing on this site I have to say my experience there overall is horrid.

You spend hours on proposal after proposal, giving an honest stab at something just to see 90% of your effort just goes totally unanswered. One job posting I'm thinking of has 74 proposals and still sits there today with an open status. When you do get lucky and manage a reply, sadly most of those reply's are fishing expeditions by someone without a project or a plan trying to dig up free information or guidance without paying a cent. A second level of time waste, this is super frustrating if you dare call yourself a professional. After a few of those it becomes clear when you're being fished on, but what is the deal with some of these outfits, do they really sit there trying to get you to work for free? Is that a living career for someone? Really? What a screwed up life this is when all you can be is cynical as hell towards anyone that answers your emails.

When you actually land a job and feel like you have finally run the gauntlet and won because a job is finally'awarded' to you, the reality is usually anything but an award. Often times getting landed by most of these people results in a graduate level of blood(eating) leech like activity. I had one guy hire me for a week and proceeded to work me for a month before threatening to escalate things to a legal problem. Looking back he was a d-bag from the start, but what did I know, the customer is always right and being new to that site definitely, you have to be a little bit of a(rear end) kisser to get any attention. I suppose that aptitude has its drawbacks but that's how sales and most of the world works. You have to kiss some babies and shake some hands if you want to be mayor, that's just how it works.

Well freelancing on eLance also has its routines, and that is getting leeched by some snake who knows how to scam you more than you know how to not get scammed is one of them. After effectively cutting my desired rate to a 1/4 of what I thought was already a bargain, I cut off the flow of free information and found shots across my bow less than a day later. What is with some people, has the planet always been full of these clowns? A weeks pay for a months work, that sums up the average winning side of eLance. In other words, when you win, you really lose. Way to go guys.

All in all I have two customers from that place who are actual decent people with real work and aren't out to screw me, but I'm here to tell you that sadly they are a huge exception to the rule. I suppose I'm lucky I managed to find them, then again just from the simple math of it all, they might be the 2% of posters who aren't Jedi level scam artists and as such, we have managed a good business relationship.

tl;dr. eLance s* and if you don't believe me, well have fun s**, you've been warned

Account Deleted Without Giving Reason

This is the message I get:

Elance Message: After reviewing your recent proposal activity, we have decided to close your Elance account, effective immediately. Your proposals have not consistently led to active communication and work on the Elance site.

and more over they are not replying and just sending automated messages, this the message at the end:

Elance Message: I apologize for any inconvenience, however for security reasons, I cannot divulge nor share any specific details. As a private company, we have the right to determine who can engage on our platform, and at this time our management team has come to the conclusion that your participation can no longer be supported.

Opinion: Really disappointed as I am member of Elance since from 2006 with good reviews and ratings. They simply delete accounts so freelancers and companies my suggestion is to go for some other sources to find work no point in building your profile as when you start getting projects or communicating with clients they delete your account.

Bad experience working with Elance

Elance have suspended my account without any reason. They only send ready made mail. When I try to contact their support. They have only one reply. High level management will see that issue. So their support is totally useless. When I submit ticket.

They have standard reply complete your current jobs. After they will review the account and everybody know their reply after jobs complete. I still don't know what is the link of current job to account suspend. So advice everyone to away Elance.

Account suspended without legitimate reason
Jan 13, 2015 05:57 AM 44077 Views

My account was recently suspended for no reason. When I contacted the Help Desk they said it was based on client feedback.which is not true. Even Google validates that my profile feedback has 4.9 stars out of 5. I contacted them again and mentioned this, explaining it must be a mistake.

They have not given me any validated reason or proof, and have just stated it's permanent. So one day you have an account, the next day you don't. Very unprofessional service. Not recommended as you would be simply wasting your time!

Elance "work protection" Doesn't Work
Dec 28, 2014 08:54 PM 44230 Views

I have been an elance contractor for over a year now and had 8 issues with them paying me. The work protection when working HOURLY projects does not pay according to elance marketing and contract terms.

Its NOT the client you have to worry about it's elance and their custom service reps are contractors on the elance platform.

For example. A gal named Cassandra said she was a supervisor and she is a social media expert(contractor) on elance.

They hire anyone that can answer a phone but they do not know anything about the payment system. THEY NEED TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS "THEFT OF SERVICE."

They keep withholding my money an extra week or two on hourly jobs and keep saying its a big in their system.

They don't realize who they are actually working with.

I have contact the states attorney.

Elance was never guaranteed for hour jobs

Elance is nice site? Yes nice site for scam. When you work in elance for hour job and completely successfully handed over then client gone so far.

Client made silent and file a dispute.Elance must suspend account for deny payment.

And showing decision your account suspended so you are not eligible for payment. Lol. Is their policy? You asked to get money and Elance will suspend your account.

Just see how Elance becoming scam. I'm really hurt to get this type of behave.

So, just ignore Elance. Elance was not guaranteed for hour job, ever never.

Without any prior notice Elance stop expired my account even I have existing contact with 450$ a month. They should not close this account even some bad issue. They can limit feature but I totally disagree they will not close a account. They should warn.

Elance scam my money more than 1000k in future life income. I must go to court and get official notice. Its our career issue. So If you work hard take exam test and other hard work all will be vain.

Its a real shock news for us. Please complain here https://tips.fbi.gov/ . I believe if we complain here they will take action regarding elance. Already did it. Elance don't have any right to vanish our career without prior notice.
