Earlier you had to be logged into del.icio.us to search the list of bookmarks, but now there is no need for logging in. You can type in the search term into the search box on their home page
Another way of finding links to sites of different users sharing a common tag is to use url's similar to the following url in your browser . For eg. https://del.icio.us/tag/cricket
throws up links to sites that have been tagged with the word ''cricket''.You can also use the ''+'' operator. https://del.icio.us/tag/html+editor is better than https://del.icio.us/tag/html if you are looking for html editors. There are similar ways for refining your search on this service to give you pretty good results.
There are some differences to the sites obtained by searching this service than the sites that come up from search engines like google or altavista. I think this is because of the human factor involved in del.icio.us But there are some defects like spam links (used for increasing page ranks on google and other search engines).
The service can be integrated into firefox browser using an extension. It comes integrated with the Flock browser.
There are some other similar services like yahoo's MyWeb and also stumbleupon (available as an extension to firefox).
There are also some privacy concerns associated with this service as with most online services like search engines. It is possible to create a profile of the likes, dislikes etc of a particular user by going through their bookmarks, votes etc.
