I purchased Sharp Aquos LC-52G7M (52-inch LCD) on 10th Jun 2008 for AED 11000. The dealer delivered and installed it in my home. Since then we are calling it a mini theatre. We didn’t realize that the TV is this big. The colors are vibrant and true to life.
The images are sharp and crystal clear. We love to watch it for hours continuously. There are no unnecessary pixels appearing, Image is very clear. I’m a gadget lover.
Before buying this LCD, I’ve been observing many brands of LCDs and Plasmas for last 3 years. In my observation, I found, Panasonic is the best for Plasmas. But when it comes to LCDs, Sharp, Sony and Samsung are leaders. (this is my personal openion, I checked various models and sizes of diffferent brands).
This rating is based on image sharpness, detail, colour, motion and ability to produce darkness (black ness). These three brands
LCDs produce almost same quality picture. Features may vary. But Sharp is having
its own LCD panel manucacturing unit. I think Samsung and Sony also have, in
collaboration with some other companies. Its sound is also amazing. Bottom
speaker panel is well designed with a beautiful curve. Speaker panel can be
seperated if not required.
Menu is also easy to understand and user friendly.
Various AV modes are available to select. Different colour adjustments are
there. Different wide modes to suite different aspect ratios. One can control
the image position on the TV. Another important feature is advanced optical
image control which controls the image brightness and other settings based on
room brightness (I didn’t use this feature till now though). These are few from
many other features like Teletext, World widesystem etc…. I’ve connected the TV
with LG music system by using Component cable. Images are great. It’s really
wonderful experience to watch movies on this TV.
I’m a hard core cricket fan,
still waiting to watch cricket matches on this TV (I don’t have cable connection
now). You don’t believe, if you start watching movies on this TV you forget the
rest of the world and you will keep on watching it. You don’t see unwanted
horizontal lines like rear projection TVs, you don’t see unwanted pixels like
other lower end models, it produses great images. Only one feature is missing,
that is Picture in Picture (though we don’t use it often/regularly). I fully
recommend Sharp Aquos LC-52G7M (52-inch LCD) if any one want to purchase bigger
LCD.
