Philips 20 PT1433

I purchased this T.V a long time back.It has been almost 10 yrs.When I went to the showroom, I had the intention of buying a Bush baron T.V.But I wanted to check the sound quality of a ll the TVs there.So when the salesman switched on all  the television sets, I found the sound of Philips 20 PT1421 to be distinct and of a better quality.In terms of picture  quality too, it stood out from other TVs.

The T.V  continues to run without a problem.So this T.V has become our very trusted friend in alleviating all stress.It is a good antidote for our tiredness after a day's hard work.Our good companion has a very good voice quality even after years of use.The speakers  still belt out melodious sounds.They are not at all grating to the ear.Picture quality too is wonderful.We can view the picture in 4 modes i.e., personal, natural, rich and soft.

This TV is for those with a concern for quality , a tight purse ;and for those who don't worry about a T.V  not having too many features. This T.V is not for those who would like to play computer games, alter pictures, store programmes for later viewing as is doesn't have the features to support these desires.

Bought this & Model in 2002 for the Football World Cup. Never had a single service problem. Have changed two houses since buying it. But dont see any reason to give it up. Even the remote has not been replaced even once. That says something about the TV. Yes looks wise it is no where. Fat and squat with metallic silver which has got a yellowish tinge - it doesnt belong in a Designer Villa.

But it does what it was meant to do after  5 years of heavy use. No problem in interfacing with the latest DVD's.

Have never needed service - so cannot comment much about the same - but have done that anyway. Because the product overall has lived upto what was expected of it.

If this model is still available in the market ( which I doubt) you could go ahead and buy it - provided looks are not a criteria.This will definitely not a model of choice for one-upmanship with the Joneses.
