LG 3D Smart TV Rebooting problem
Oct 04, 2014 12:55 PM 7393 Views

I have purchased Lg smart 3D TV model # LM 6200 in US and brought in India in March 2013. Within a couple month of use its SMPS had blown off which I got it replaced from LG service center. It cost me Rs2500

Now I am facing another problem from last couple of months. The TV is rebooting by itself randomly. Technician from LG service center visited couple of time after my repetitive complain. Initially he diagnosed power cord and power source problems. I replaced power cord and also put V guard stabilizer ment for LED TV but the problem is still persisting. Now the technician is saying that the TV mother board is having issue and quoted Rs 2600 for replacement.

I am not sure whether motherboard is the root cause of problem or something else.

I am extremely disappointed with the kind TV I purchased from LG. I have been using various product of LG which includes Nexus 4 mobile, LG refrigerator, LG music system, LG MW oven and all are having some snags. Be aware of LG product. They are not all reliable.

LG Led TV failure and service experience..
Sep 21, 2014 12:58 AM 5948 Views

Hi, I have bought  LG 42LV3730 in Aug 2011 for 60k.with in 1 year Auto brightness sensor gone and now the TV stopped working.

The LG service technician is trying to figure out the actual problem and told me that if its a electronic board issue it will cost me Rs 5000 and if the issue with Panel it will cost me Rs 24000.

Product is out of warranty and I am really worried abt the Quality and Reliability of LG LED TV products.

Much more than this, Service cost quote is coming almost half price of the product.

folks please think twice before buying an LG LED tv especially around the quality, reliability and service cost.

If some one has similar experience please share.LG service support is not helping me at all.

My LG ticket is still open - RNA140919013628 and I really don't know how to get this problem  resolved.

Thanks

Irresponsible - LG Service Centre Vandalur Chennai
Jul 09, 2014 05:00 PM 5076 Views

I bought LG 42 LN5400 LED TV from Ebay. It was mentioned that I will get Free Wallmount and Demo and I had to contact LG Customer Care to book a request. TV was delivered with no external damage with little acceptable delay. Post that I had booked for an Installation and Demo with LG Customer Care It has been more than 5 days since I have booked this request and the Local LG service Centre is decieving me each day. First Two days, there was no update whatsover. Post that My dad recieves a call from Service centre and an appointment is fixed. Not sure why the system had my dads #. May be because of the previous LG tV we bought in his name. Some confusion there. However, there was no response again after this call. My dad gave me the no. from which he got call from LG service.

I spoke to a lady called N.Selvi who is the call co-ordinator it seems. She said she will contact engineer and get back to me. Again no response for a day. I call her again. She keeps cutting the call, several times. She speaks to others ( call goes waiting). I call LG toll free again. They gave me Service Centre #. Supposedly the managers #. I spoke to him. He said he will send engineer. No response again. I called manager again and finally i got a call from a person called Karthik. He said he will come to my home at 6:00 PM as requested by me. From 7:00 PM i am in touch with Karthik. He keeps saying he will reach ..he will reach. Till 9 PM he did not reach. POst that he switches off his mobile. I call him after some time. Ring goes. But call is cut. Phone is immediately switched off. I call the manager again. No response for several calls. Later I message him. I received a call around 10 PM stating that someone will call me today morning. Its 11:30 now. No call yet. I messaged manager again. No response. Dear LG, Your good name is being spoil by your Service Center Folks. You will lose customer base in case they keep doing this.

This is my second LG product. I bought it because I liked it and service was good. But looks like the Service is now degrading. They are irresponsible, non-courteous and take customers for granted. Request you to take this matter seriously.

Thanks,

Poor Customer.

Good Product, Bad Customer Service
May 22, 2014 04:47 PM 6497 Views

I bought a 32 inch LED TV on 18 May 2014 from Cuttack, Odisha., Model No- 32LN4900. Company- LG, Cost - Rs.24900/- I was assured my TV will be installed (wall mounting) by LG Customer care within 24 Hrs. They installed after 5 days.

Wrong service & Delay -

They initiated installation at wrong location first without asking me.

Harassment-

On 21 May 2014 I received a call from local LG Customer service provider. He requested me to reach at my quarter for installation. As per his request I moved from office and after reaching when I called him, he told me he will not come today, further more did not respond to me after several calls.

Parts missing & Wrong Packaging-

I also have been given wrong table top stand for the model(32LN4900). But I appreciate the features in the product. It z 4 star out of 5. But I could not watch and enjoy the TV without installation, When I tried to put it on table I found table top stand in the package is wrong. A customer should not pay fully until it is completely installed, else poor customer service will make him cry.

Big in size, safe on eyes & small in price
Feb 19, 2014 11:38 AM 7167 Views

I've purchased this TV almost a year back when this was launched as 2013 model LED TV from LG. At the Croma store, it did not receive too much attention between the artificially bright Samsung screens and loud Sony televisions. This one did not have either a great sound or overly saturated color pixels, which caught my attention. The sales guys for LG were quite sober and told me the pros and cons of this TV.

If you have kids at home who watches TV for longer hours, this is the television to buy. The natural colors and lesser brightness of LEDs behind the screen reduces stress on eyes. The only vexation is the sound. The puny downfiring speakers at the bottom of the screen cannot generate enough sound to deliver punchy music, though the dialogues are quite clearly heard.

I fixed the issue by buying a Boston soundbar speaker. The screen supports full HD resulting in excellent picture clarity and reduced picture noise. The TV is relatively trouble free and has quick and easy menu access & features. This is an absolutely no-nonsense TV which is good for small halls of 12x15 ft dimension or even bedrooms. Since the screen size is 26 inch, larger rooms may make it look quite tiny in screen size.

The LG TV service center is also quite customer oriented in Bangalore, which is a nice plus.

Verdict : Very nice TV with small dimension, yet big in quality while not being expensive.

Budget 42" plasma TV
Feb 15, 2014 02:29 AM 7173 Views

I have bought this TV about a year ago for watching movies only. I rarely have time to watch broadcast TV so it's not even connected to any DTH or cable-TV. I watch HD movies on it with pendrive, portable hard-drive and from the HDMI and the VGA ports of my PC too with VLC player.

While playing on PC the audio from PC is connected to the TV 3.5mm stereo jack input. The advantage of playing on PC is the VLC player's abilities to resize video and many many supported formats. So I need the wide choice of connectivity ports which this LG model has - I found no other TV in this range with so many useful input / output ports.

It has almost everything other than a LAN port or Wi-fi. The first HDMI port on the back is hdmi+ dvi, i.e it directly takes the DVI output from my PC's AGP video card with a cheap DVI-to-HDMI cable. Newer models from LG and other new TVs have left out most of the ports this TV has. Even latest Samsung LED TVs cannot play portable hard-drive, it's USB ports doesn't supply enough power for an hard drive - but pendrive plays ok. Most other TVs are having various connectivity limitations like this. None I have found on this LG plasma yet.

It also takes VGA output from the 15-pin VGA port of the PC and then you can use it same as PC monitor, native resolution set to 1024x768 i.e. can be directly used for office conferences and meetings instead of the LCD-projector setup.

Most current TVs don't have a 15-pin VGA port that is standard on PCs and laptops. I have even used this TV as a second display on my ubuntu-Linux PC with dual-display Nvidia AGP card to play PC games on the large 42" screen - and it was amazing fun! Xorg ran perfectly in this set up and auto-detected the TV as a second monitor and automatically configured it.

Onboard player, playing from USB port cannot re-size or eliminate black bars on top & bottom. But it does play every format of video I could find from DivX to MKV or XVID excellently. With few MKV files with 6-channel DCA audio, sound does not play.

But otherwise the build-in player plays excellent and full screen directly from USB pendrive / harddrive once the movie file has been reformatted(on a PC with video converter software) to 720p HD 16:9 ratio.

Picture quality is quite astounding for a Rs 34000 TV of this size. You'd be hard pressed to find better picture quality even in double priced TVS. Unlike LED and LCD picture is great from all angles, even from extreme side - no distortion or blurs at all. Better blacks and rich vibrant colors than LED.

I have latest 32" Samsung LED downstairs to compare with, that one is on Airtel dish for other family members watching soap. I like my LG plasma much much better than my LED TV for watching movies - experience is just next to cinema screen.

Only problem with screen is that it is glass(strong) and quite reflective, so you'd need heavy dark curtains on windows in daytime. I use it for watching movies at evening - so this never bothered me.

Sound is OK for private movie watching and quite loud even in a large room . For additional bass you can connect it to amplified speakers etc, again it has almost every possible audio in / out ports including an optical SPDIF port.

The unit is quite heavy and robust. Screen glass is very strong. LG provided strong large wall mount bracket that is fixed to the wall with 12mm bolts, their technician came and fixed it in a jiffy - no problem. Table stand is also provided in the box.

Amazingly great LED 3-D Smart TV!
Feb 15, 2014 12:37 AM 9881 Views

Writing this review about LG 47 Inch LED TV LG LW5700 3D Smart TV after using this product for nearly 3 years. It is an amazing product from LG. Though I did not do much research on this product and just went and bought it from Tata Croma.

It came with 1 year warranty and additional 2 year extended warranty from Croma.(great place to shop) I was impressed immediately by the picture quality and the 3D effect using a simple very cheap eye glasses.

It came with four eye glasses for 3D watching(also supports regular video to 3D auto conversion), TV has four HDMI port, Two USB(one will be occupied for a magic remote), abundant input options.(optical, RGB, RF, Digital VGA, VGA-D, 2 sets of Audio-video)

USB supports thumb drives. Brightness and contrast automatically adjusts itself and never irritates our eye and keeps it always soothing and pleasant.

User interface is pretty simple and intuitive as well. The Magic remote is unique to its kind and help great particularly during browsing the internet in the TV. The full HD(1920 x 1080) resolution is great for TV as well as laptop.

The power button is aesthetically designed in a way, it becomes silvery white color like a holy moon of third day when it is ON and becomes slight red(non-intrusive) when switched off. This can also be disabled if required.

Like computer, it supports browsing the internet including Skype, You tube, several interesting games DLNA feature of this TV is great, streaming of photo, image, video and audio from computer and mobile phones are amazingly easy and sure a boon.

Magic remote released after this model comes with a scroll wheel as well. Regular remote is large but quite compact with all buttons neatly placed with night illumination.

It comes with a VESA bracket for wall mounting and includes all necessary accessories in a pack. WiFi dongle is separate in this model and available for around 2000 but helps in wireless connectivity. It has regular network socket too but convenience of WiFi is superb.

It came in a very strong and sturdy packing which is sure worth preserving and it helped me transport it in my car for more than 1300 km with ease. Software(firmware) updated itself several times adding more features and quality every now and then makes it most friendly.

Three years of use never gave a reason for any complaint. Though the price is more than a lakh, every penny of it is worth the money. Watching History-HD, Discovery-HD and NGC-HD gives a completely great viewing experience. Watching 3D HD will make anyone fall in love with the quality.

Sure, anyone will recommend this wholeheartedly!. Now new models has come on the same series with lots of additional features.

Sony is far better than LG TV
Nov 27, 2013 02:47 PM 3076 Views

In 2 years the TV has not at all delivered what it promised. the features requires added gizmos which is okay, but then their quality is inferior. The TV's I have known never got spoiled.

HoweverLG broke down in 2 years. It is a pity. Next time no Korean makes for me. Service - Lousy. The service guys are non-communicative and work according to their own guidelines mixed with the ones given by LG.

Not happy with product
Nov 10, 2013 03:24 PM 2806 Views

I bought LG 32' LED TV from UAE and brought in India. After the first week its sound has gone off and picture has no problem but sound is not working.

When I registered complaint with their toll free number they came with in 24 hours and said need to change a card in it, problem is related to its software. It took 3 weeks to get that piece of hardware to my state.

After that 3 months everything was fine, after that same thing repeated. I am waiting for the service people to step in. Any way as I have an international warranty and I don't have to pay, but what if if this continues even after warranty period.

I am seriously planning to register a complaint. If the product is faulty they have to replace it. But their service centers are working well, they will respond in 24 hours time. Lets see.

So please think twice before going for it.

LCD dead at 4th year and non repairable
Sep 03, 2013 08:52 AM 3501 Views

Dear all,

I purchased LG LCD40FR TV about 4 years back from Sarda electronics, Nagpur. It was working well and then suddenly 4 months back it became dead. Service LG executives initially told about repair or replacement of small part costing 4000 Rs. which they couldn't do. Then send part for repairing at warehouse without success. Ultimately since last two months confirmed that they cannot repair part and spare part is not available, as they have stopped selling that model TV. They would refund about 20% cost money as they cannot solve the problem.

I have very bad experience about this LG product. Even after repeated complaints no reply. This problem is certainly not because of mishandling or because of user, but definitely it is manufacturing defect. In fact company like LG, which is having international brand image and large market share, should come forward and replace the faulty product at free of cost, or refund whole cost.

I will get appx 11000 Rs. only for this LCD which has costed me Rs.63000. This is certainly hurting me and my family since four months without proper responses. They were negotiating on%refund.

I think I should get either repair of TV or full refund of my TV value.I think company executives should settle my matter at earliest.

Thanks.

Never Purchase LG LED TVs
Aug 24, 2013 03:57 PM 3231 Views

I purchased LED 32' Television and the quality of the product was very bad. I had very bad customer service experience.

The LG Service Center in Panjagutta, Hyderabad, displays this below notice in Bold.So customer has no way to question on the spare parts or any additional accessories. They are manufactured by LG and this is pure dictatorship/monopoly of all electronics, where you are helpless to purchase without any warranty.

If the spare part goes bad, you shouldn't question them. So sad about this international company, with this cheap strategy. So I request all my friends, brothers and sisters. Please don't purchase any LG products.

"No Warranty"

"No Return"

"No Refund"

"No Guarantee".

Important: LG charges for Pickup, estimation and transport for each visit on your LG product. Also you need to pay for the repair and changed parts. So LG is not caring about CUSTOMERS. So what is after sales support in warranty products.

So they are cheating in after Sales services very badly. Customer is not King but fool. If you have any questions, suggestions, please mail me your queries. I have every document to support my point.

New Delhi India
A TV designed to complete warranty and then fail.
Jun 07, 2013 05:36 PM 3895 Views

The TV was purchased on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Delhi CWG in 2010.

This year during the summers we saw the picture shake horizontally. The LG technician was called, he changed the motherboard. Total cost of repairs:- Rs.7400/- approx.

Then we decided to get the AMC done. The LG customer care was called again. The technician came and we got the AMC done for 3 years.

However, the technicians try to cheat you. They say that no discounts are given on AMC if the TV is out of warranty! However, we realized that if we do the AMC for 3 years there is a hefty 20% discount given by the company. We had to threaten the technician to give us the discount. Then we got the 20% discount.

Please beware that it is the standard ploy of the technicians, who come from some franchisee networks officially under LG, is to hoodwink and say no discounts are available. Though the fellows can not en cash your cheque as the same is directly in the name of LG Electronics, it appears that they have some race for completing the financial targets. If you decide to pay cash, then in any case there is no problem as then they can keep the 20% and give the rest to the company!

So if you take an AMC on an LG product for more than one year at a time, do check out and CLAIM the discount that the company is giving rather than letting it fall into the pockets of the unscrupulous representatives and franchisees.

Bad TV and worst after sales service
Jun 01, 2013 02:07 PM 4439 Views

I bought a LG 42LV5500 LED TV hoping that it would last long.  The first shocker came when I bought this Smart TV and tried connecting to internet.  But their WiFi dongle wasn't compatible with the Linksys WiFi router that I had.  So literally I couldn't use internet thru WiFI and had to use Ethernet connection.  The next shocker came when I tried watching YouTube video thru this TV.  This smart TV doesn't even have buffering logic for YouTube videos, so it just hangs for a while plays the video for few seconds and again hangs while it downloads the content.  The worst browsing experience you expect and only from LG products I guess.

Next came the big blow.  After using it for year and half, the TV started displaying vertical lines in the display.  To my horror I called the after sales service guy.  He took couple of days to come and then evaluated the TV and said I have to change the entire panel.  And he told this is normal and that you should have gone for AMC or extended warranty.  And to my horror he quoted around Rs.28000 for replacing the panel for 1.5 years old TV.

I am wondering how many are facing similar issues with LG TVs.  At least the sales man was candid and said that lot of people are facing this issue.  So  LG is selling TVs in India which they know will be rendered useless in 1.5 years?  And that too to a product which is priced above Rs.60, 000 they give warranty for just 1 year.  And they don't inform customer that it is better to go for extended warranty for their lousy product.

I am completely disappointed with this product from LG and wondering what are my options.  If many customers have faces this issue, then probably I will think about going to consumer court and prove that they are selling defective product in India.  How I wish we had some kind of class action suit in India.

LG after sale service
May 29, 2013 05:40 PM 2856 Views

I have bought new LG LED TV on 13/5/13 at Navi mumbai. I got to know that like other TV brands LG also have service :)..where they come and wall mount my TV in a week or so.I was not at home after 2 days but I scheduled the meeting on 21/5 ..no one came, I called the service center guys and they told me..it will be done tomorrow 22/5.

Next day I got a call from service tech service guy it is impossible for him to come there tomorrow 23/5..now when no one came on 23rd I called them again through the shop from where I bought it.. still the answer was tomorrow on Friday 24/5.

On Friday this tech guy called and told that all the shops selling the accessory for wall mount are closed on that day and he will come tomorrow Saturday..On Saturday I kept on calling but he didn't pick again. I called this service center number and got the date from Sunday..Also called the shop keeper to check with the installation service guy...

Don't know when this happen but just to make everyone aware that it is a long journey from buying the LG Television to actually getting it set on wall.... :(

LG 3D LED TV is good for 3D viewing and crystal clear picture along with passive 3D technology which not strains your eyes for longer period.

The Smart TV Option is not much useful as there are no enough applications. There is no built in Wifi dongle but can connect LAN cable directly.

Really good picture and sound quality. You can also buy separate USB dongle for the wireless internet connectivity.

The only downfall with this tv is very slow in loading the web page while accessing any web site. In addition you can also get pair of 3d glasses to enjoy the real experience of 3d cinema in your smart TV.
