Radio with Variety

Yahoo! has branched into many areas of the internet (too bad not all of them are listed in MouthShut but maybe they will be added soon). This is yet another area of Yahoo! that you have control of. Listen to music while you are looking at your favorite pages (and yes you have many choices for what you can listen to).

First there are some requirements and things you must know before you can get to the fun things.

Requirements

Yes, there always seem to be some requirements for programs that you want to use but these are not too bad.

First this is not Macintosh compatable right now (hopefully someday it will be so more people can enjoy this). What you need is:

Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000

Media Player (either Windows Media Player 6.4 or RealPlayer 7 Basic - you can download either from here also)

Browser (either Internet Explorer 5.X or Netscape 4.X - you can also download either of these from here also)

A stable connection to the Internet

Speakers

Installing and Playing

Yahoo! also makes this very simple for you now that you have all the necessary equipment you can start playing your favorite stations. You won't have to download anything else.

Saving Stations

There are so many stations that you can use that you might want to save your favorites so that you can find them again. This will save on the Yahoo! servers so that you will be able to use your favorite stations no matter what computer you are using (just like most Yahoo! features.

Station Choices

There are many stations in many different styles of music for you to choose from, including:

Rock and Pop

Adult Album Alternative

Adult Contemporary

Alternative

Classic Rock

Contemporary Hits

Oldies

Rock

Urban

Classical

Classics

College

Electronica

Religious

Countries and Cultures

Entertainment

News, Talk and Sports

Public

Scanner Signals

New Stations

In this list it covers most interests (if not all) that people may have or want to listen to. Yahoo! also features different stations for you to try at their main page.

Conclusion

If you want to listen to a large variety of stations while your viewing your favorite web pages. You can get more information by going to https://radio.yahoo.com and get started listening to your favorite music. If you run into any problems Yahoo! has an excellent help section for you to get you through any problems.
