Shift +B is the shortcut key for beam numbering if you want to know more shortcut means just go to labels icon there they provided the shortcut keys

plate have three noded or four noded, surface can be up to eight noded. Plate have to be meshed through a different command, surface has the provision for auto meshing.

Plate will be drawn only by 3 to 4 nodes but in surface we can draw upto N nodes.
