Ares Galaxy

Many peer to peer softwares are available and all claim to be the best and boast a large user base. They dont stop there, some P2P clients like kaazaa claim that they have inbuilt Virus Protection... Believe me, I found a potential virus in my download that went un-filtered by it.

So a word of caution !!!

You can download movies with confidence as they cannot contain virus unless you rename them to .exe if at all they contain a virus...

2. Small sized software... The lite version suitable for WIN 98 and ME is less that 1MB and the full version with media player inbuilt is only 1.2 MB...

   
   

The full version can support WIN XP and WIN 2000. It can also be installed on 98 and ME and I have installed the full version on my ME system as well as XP

Now that you have ARES... WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW !!!

If you are using a firewall (Not the one inbuilt in WIN XP), then please turn it off...

In windows XP service pack 2 (SP2), the number of connections are limited by its

native firewall... So you may not be able to download from more than 10 peers...

This is okay if you only download 1 file at a time... But if you download a number of

files simultaneously, you may lose out on speed...

SO BETTER DONT USE WIN XP SP2 if you download many files simultaneously...

IN WIN XP SP2 please unblock ARES after installation... Dont Worry, windows will ask you after you install... Even if you miss out on it, go to firewall properties and unblock it !!!

Heard about this software through my friend. In my opinion, this is the best P2P software available. It works nicely behind my zonealarm firewall..... There are lots of other P2P softs available like kaza, limewire, etc. I don't like kazza because it's having viruses, worms. once I used limewire, but uninstalled it when 200 mb downloaded file gets corrupted.... Ares galaxy its available free on download.com, I am using for 3 months and am happy about it.

Ares have search facility for Audio, Video, Documents, Image and Software.

Audio :- search for mp3s, wav. You can find lifetime collection of ur favourites.. Right from Beatles, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylon, madonna to Norah jones & Ricky Martin.... You also find latest hindi stuff here.

Video :- search for dat, mpeg, mpg, avi. You will find here lots of english collection, few hindi movies are there. Downloaded few engish stuff like topgun, golden eye which is 720x324 resolution around 700mb. Most of them are divx avi. The resolution quality and sound quality is excellent. Enjoyed these movies with my Creative Sound Blaster Audigy sound card and Creative Inspire 5.1 speakes......theater effect...you will find latest stuff like constantine, collateral, etc. Download lots of tsunami videos from here.

Documents :- search for txt, doc & pdf. You find here lots of ebooks,software tutorials, How to stuff and many more. Image :- search for jpgs, bmp. Not yet tried as am busy in downloading movies.

Software :- Unlimited collection, but downlaod at your own risk.

Downloaded mostly free stuff.

Am highly recommending this P2P software for music and movie lovers.
