However, a live performance by a rock star has an altogether different effect which elates one to higher levels of music thrill. An opportunity of such kind came my way and I grabbed it with both my hands. Music icon Bryan Adams performed in the city of New Delhi in India which I was fortunate to witness. What I did not expect coming, was a memorable journey into the world of sheer rock music. The stage was set on a huge piece of land with lights and all the vital equipments needed for the concert. Giant speakers were placed in the four corners to make the music highly audible. Even before the event got underway, there were people everywhere. All of a sudden it felt like too many people in a small space. The crowd surged forward and back in one relentless wave like the wild waves of the ocean during a high tide. In such a situation, none could help but to push and shove the others around. The crowd provided or allowed no personal space. We were all packed in there like caged wildcats. I had to move as the crowd allowed or insisted. Everything was done as a group. It was only one group of crazy fans fighting for that one glimpse of their favorite star. The crowd would shift as people passed out. This only allowed me to move closer to the front. As one can tell, I was packed in until the end. The level of sound was astronomical. The decibel level was on the threshold of pain. The music roared through the streets for miles and the crowd would go crazy. Every time the bass drum was struck, I could feel the repercussion in the organs within my chest. It even made my teeth chatter. The floor beneath me seemed to move with the beat of each song. The vibration that each sound produced, felt like current passing through one's body. It truly felt like a festival of sensory overloads. At this instant, my body felt stimulated in every area to its complete capacity. The stage was a constant flurry of excitement. It presented a spectacular sight and the atmosphere sucked us into the aura of rock music. Plenty of pyrotechnics kept my eyes filled with colorful wonder as the music played on. The hyperactive guitarist, who was never at a standstill, wore a path in the floor running back and forth. He along with the drummer made the show exciting, and never was there a lull in the show. The light and fireworks kept me craving for more. A fireball would fly to the left, then to the right. The sky was sparkling with beautiful colors everywhere. The whole sight was mesmerizing. The crowd was kept in a constant trance. The entire picture was food to the eyes and music to the ears. The atmosphere was simply electrifying. Amidst all the chaos and excitement, I noticed that there were security guards and policemen posted on every nook and corner. However, they could not do much to stop the madness. They stood and watched, ready in case some serious accident should occur. For some strange reason, however, out of all this chaos there was this fear in my mind of the mob going wild and out of control. Thank God nothing of that sort happened. The mood was ecstatic and upbeat throughout the show. Although there were enormous people packed in the small space, everyone seemed to enjoy every moment of the show. It proved to be a big treat for all the fans of Bryan Adams. The concert was one of the most electrifying and enjoyable moments of my life. The feeling of being in a world of rock music was just amazing. The event was worth the experience which I will remember for days to come. Read More

He told me, 'I have a 22 year old wife at home. She rubs my back every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee.' I continued, 'Well, then why are you crying?' He added, 'She makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favourite biscuits, cleans the house and then watches sports TV with me for the rest of the afternoon.' I said, 'Well, why are you crying?' He said, 'For dinner she makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favourite dessert and then we cuddle until the small hours.' I inquired, 'Well then, why in the world would you be crying?' He replied, 'I can't remember where I live.' Read More

As long as I can remember I have always kept Christmas and its' traditions deep in my heart. The sounds of carols and hymns have lifted my spirit; the anticipation of the day and the sharing of tidings with family and friends have always put a skip in my heart and lightness to my step. Watching those I care for the most, open the treasures I had carefully selected for their surprise, that was always the best part, it brings special magic to the day. It has always been that way, as long as I can remember. As a special memory each year I've tried to write a poem or story regarding the holiday to share as a heartfelt gift to all, a reminder of the true depths of the meaning of Christmas. They have always been inspired by the joy and the happiness I found within my family and the season. This year was different; the spirit of the holiday came upon me like a surprise ending in an O'Henry story. I found him sitting all alone among the Porcelain Santa's, Angels and Wise men in a discount shop. Like an orphan eagerly awaiting a home he seemed to call to me and I impulsively added him to my purchases. I didn't think much of him till last night when I finally unwrapped him and placed him on my desk and looked him over. The figurine was a young boy maybe nine or ten. He stood quite proud in a crumpled set of tails, a bowler hat in one hand and a walking stack in the other. His pants looked five inches two long and hung in folds at his ankles, his vest buttoned over a tarnished shirt that was two sizes to small. A faded red bow-tie encircled his neck; he had hair the color golden wheat, and the face of a cherub. But it was his eyes that caught my attention, they were a deep blue but I swore they looked as old as forever. The expression upon his face was almost as if he wanted to share something with me. I laughed off the silly notion and went about my business of preparing for the next day until my head began to nod from exhaustion and I closed my eyes for a brief respite. A knock on my front door startled me out of my slumber, and I stumbled to the door to see who could possibly be pounding at such an early hour. Thinking back I probably should have been more careful but I was still half asleep as I pulled open the door to reveal an old white-bearded man silhouetted by the pale moonlight. His rounded face was creased with wrinkles that accentuated the broad and cheerful grin on his face as he offered his card. Saurabh Read More

NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A new live CD from Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams is set for release in November, Decca Label Group said Wednesday. Recorded this past spring and scheduled to go on sale Nov. 16, the album is described by the record label as "an inspired collection of minimally arranged hits culled from Adams' impressive body of work spanning three decades." The CD features only Adams' voice and guitar, accompanied on select songs by keyboardist Gary Breit. Adams has been playing live shows with these new spare arrangements and, as an experiment, decided to start recording them for a possible record, Decca said. "As the tour rolled across the United States and Canada, many people were asking for a recording of the songs as they had just heard in the show. So in response to that, I decided to record a few shows to see if a recording was even interesting … I like the way the songs carry themselves warts and all, bare-boned, without the original arrangements of a full band or an orchestra," Adams said in a statement. "These recordings only have the voices and hand claps of the fans in the audience and the ambiance of the room to lift them." Read More

Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are you?" And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!" Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer: "Coward!" He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life; Life will give you back everything you have given to it." YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU!" -- Saurabh IBM Read More
