Friends I purchased this Zicom B/W video door phone online from snaapdeal for rupees 5500. I decided on this brand because zicom advertises a lot on tv and print media, hence I thought it would be a good brand.
I will straight away clarify that this door phone is Not good.
The passage leading to my main door is quite long and hence dark. I installed the camera outside but the picture quality is Very, Very bad. the person captured by the camera looks like a ghost! trust me!
The main problem I faced was the installation had to be done by me. There was no assistance provided.
The cabling is a big hassle guys. the end result I got was so bad that I regret buying the door phone. the audio also could be better, louder and clearer. this door phone is mainly for safety of children and senior citizens and hence I feel the audio video must be the best quality, sadly this is not what zicom gave me.
The camera lens I feel is also prone to a lot of dust accumulation. that must be seen after a couple of months.
Zicom only advertises and compromises on the actual product quality. The brand is just namesake, I do not recommend it to anyone. Some one recommended me the HikVision brand and I am considering buying their security system but it is expensive.
