Great entertainment !!!

Whenever I'm on a vacation at my home (I'm a student), I spend good 3-4 hrs. a day watching TV. And, by TV, I mean either Zee english or HBO. HBO is a great movie channel, but I'm not one of those movie-addicted types. What I prefer is short, quality entertainment, which the comedy TV shows provide. And, I hate serials, where you have to remember what happened in the previous episode, and have to share the pains of complicated relationships of fictitious characters.

That's why I watch Zee english. It broadcasts many comedy shows which you can just watch, smile and forget. Serves the purpose of a TV! Examples: Will & Grace, Caroline in the city, Friends, Benny Hill Show, Mad TV (recently started), Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Hogan family and Full house. BTW, the list is in decreasing order of my preference.

Another good thing about this channel is that they rarely advertise for commercial products during the breaks. All they broadcast is the schedule for other serials, movies on Zee MGM and ironically the Zee English channel itself ! In other words, no third party ADs. But this seems to have a negative effect on viewer's satisfaction from the breaks. (Ardent TV viewers like me, expect something even from the breaks!!!) They run out of ADs too quickly. If you just watch the channel for may be an hour, you can literally remember each and every AD by heart. And, after that, whenever there's commercial break, the living room becomes the ''leaving'' room since everyone is so irritated.

But the programs are good. They are also repeated thrice (morning, evening and late in night) so that if you miss a show, you can complete the course later. They also provide a crash course during the weekends, for you to digest all the shows from the week in a single sitting. And, finally, picture quality is superb, and hardly any transmission cuts.
