I am using this phone for the last 1 week. I also have 2 tablets(Nexus 7 and Lenovo A100), 3 smartphones(Redmi 1S, Redmi Note and Galaxy Grand) and a DSLR, so I feel myself fairly competent to give an informed review.

This is not going to be a Pros-Cons review. In this review I will be comparing Yureka on various factors with its biggest competBrianbalakumaranr- Redmi Note 4G(which I am using for 1 month) and then give a conclusion. So here goes -

DISPLAY

Note 4G- The display is 720P, crisp and bright.Good for watching HD movies and videos. Colours are a bit on the warmer side though

Yureka- The display is also 720P. Very bright and crystal clear. Plays Full HD videos and movies smoothly.

BATTERY

-

Note 4G- Though it has a bigger 3100 mAh battery, it fails to deliver that much. Last about a day on moderate usage with WiFi on most of the time.

Yureka- Sporting a smaller 2500 mAh battery, it lasts the same as Note 4G. Must be due to the new power efficient Snapdragon processor. Some people are saying that Yureka does not get charged to 100%, but I haven't faced this problem till now.

MEMORY

-

Note 4G- Inbuilt memory is only 8 Gb, sufficient but less for those who want to install big games. You can also extend it via a MicroSD.

Yureka- 16 GB is quite enough for installing all big games and apps. Extension via MicroSD is present.

CAMERA

-

Note 4G- Both have 13 MP and 5 MP cameras. Colours are more saturated on note. Lowlight performance is average if not great. Photos have quite a lot

of detail in well lit condition. Full HD video recording is great. Front camera is not upto 5 MP standards.

Yureka- Shots come out very detailed with the back camera. Low light performance is good. Slowmotion video @ 60 fps is a welcome feature. Shutter lag

is almost non existent. Front camera is very good and quite wide angle.

USER INTERFACE

-

Note 4G- Both have custom Roms built on top of 4.4 Kitkat. MIUI is really clean and easy to use. Icons are bright and neat. App drawer is not present.

You can choose from hundreds of online themes.

Yureka- It has CynogenMod which is almost Stock Android with lots of customization. You can customize everything from buttons to lights. Guaranteed

update to Lollipop. Lots of themes are also available.

GAMING

-

Note 4G- In this department the Note 4G is way, way, way behind the Yureka. There are some noticebale frame drops while playing Asphalt 8 in high

graphic settings. Keeping the phone on medium graphic setting helps. Not recommended for playing high-end games.

Yureka- The most high end games play buttery smooth on this beast. It plays anything you throw it - Asphalt 8, Modern Combat, you name it. However it

tends to heat a bit after excessively long gaming.

HARDWARE

-

Note 4G- Both have 2 GB of RAM. Note has the same specs like Redmi 1S just with 2 GB RAM. Handles all day to day tasks smoothly. Build quality is

great. Speakers are loud and clear. It is only quad core. Back cover feels like cheap glossy plastic.

Yureka- It has Snapdragon 615 octacore which is very powerful. Build quality feels premium in hand. The device is very slim and the back is super

stylish Moonstone. Speaker volume is just above average.

CONCLUSION

-

Both are great devices under 10k with high end specifications. Yureka may look stronger on paper but both perform almost same on day to day tasks.

If you want customization of Cynogen the Yureka is better for you but some may prefer the simplicity of MIUI. Both are 4G which is very good. Since Yureka is Rs. 1000 less than Note 4G so it is the better value for money product.

Atlast I would like to say that the end descision is upto you. Many people are saying that Yureka is a rebranded Coolpad F2. This may be true but I dont see how it affects the consumers in any way.

(You can also take a look at the sample photos I have uploaded from Yureka's camera.) I will be updating the review periodically, so stay posted:D

csutomer service-

worst service from YU Yureka.

Each time I called them they only suggest me to reset(soft way and hard way) and update the device, I tried all procedure they suggested me, and when they have no option to say, then they are making an excuse that technical team will call you between 24 to 48 hrs. I called then nearly 10 times each time same Faizabad technical team will call u in 24 to 48 hrs and result u know they don't any such technical team. Literally they are cheating us.

So guys if you are looking for devices I suggest don't buy any product Yu Yureka Plus or Yu Yuphoria from them. Irony is any problem arises to you device within one year ?#?YU? only promised to replace your device on paper not practically.

If any one looking for new device don't purchase it. may be try Motorola ASUS Lenovo Mobile India Samsung Mobile India. Atleast they will repair your device if some problem arises. I have no expectation from #YU .

The phone gets heated up often, even though no major activities done. Otherwise decent phone.

May update: After updating to lollipop, the issue of battery getting drained on wifi has come down, but the issue of device heating up still exist.

June update: Dropped the phone from a~30 cm height and the screen crashed eventhough I had a back cover. Requested for a service and was quoted Rs.2999. I thought it was a fair amount, but then came the surprise. Looks like, YU will not do a service, rather will replace the set with a refurbished piece. I have raised concerns on health, especially so since it is a personal device. I have also raised questions on data loss on the old phone. I have asked if YU will take responsibility in case of any health problems or data leakage due to this swapping with a refurbished phone. I have not received a response from YU. Dropping to 1 star.

Update as of 6th Sep: After a 3 month waiting, finally got the handset replaced with a refurbished one. Was about to have a sigh of relief only to realize that the refurbished handset is not charging the battery. I think I will have to start the war with yu all over again.

In my humble opinion, this is a third rated company with third rated products and third rated service standards. STAY AWAY if you don't wanna waste your money.

Update on 23rd Sep: No proper response from YU customer care even after multiple attempts. This is a THIRD rated company with THIRD rated service standards.
