Why on earth I thought of watching this movie am not sure, may be they have done a great job with the movie trailer which portrays the film as a gripping thriller but it's turned out to be a utterly disgusted movie with pathetic story line. It will surely gives you a headache. The movie based on a book goes by the same name by Jonathan Ames.
Movies start with a scene where Joe played by Joaquin Phoenix, a veteran FBI agent tried to chocked himself with a plastic bag and getting visuals from his childhood, the reason was never made clear till the end movie.He is hired gun who rescues trafficked girls and has his elderly mother back in home whom he takes care. After returning home from his last assignment he went to McCleary his handler who informs Joe his next job, a New York Senator offers him large money to rescue his abducted daughter, Nina.
The story then revolves around her rescue mission with some mindless twist. Throughout the film the emphasis is on style and cinematography and lot of shots are quite impressive but it's not clever or captivating. It's just boring.
So please don't watch this movie.
