Yatra has a good story but they seem to have distorted facts.
The misrepresentation of facts in Yatra is scary.
Yatra is a movie that talks about the historical padayatra taken by former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Rajeashekar. The movie stars actor Mammootty and the director of the movie is Mahi V Raghav.
Yatra has a done a good job on establishing the character of Y.S. Rajeashekar and how he comes up with a strategy to deal with Telugu Desam Party. Yatra has a satirical scene that will make you burst into laughter. Their two emotional songs are also lovely and do justice to the film.
The movie has a good opening scene but then it starts to get slow till the interval. In the second half, they show how Rajasekhar becomes a calm person from the angry person that he was.
Yatra tries hard to paint Y.S. Rajeashekar as a god and in the process portrays some other people as villains and completely distorts the facts.
The documentary style of the movie and the slow pitch along with the political pitch ruins the cinematic experience of watching Yatra.
Yatra does not feel like a biopic because of the cinematic liberties used by the director and in a movie that is a biopic, this cannot be accepted. Only hardcore YSR fans who do not care about facts will like this movie.
