I booked a trip to Europe through Yatra Tours in collaboration with Wow World and I must say that my experience was horrible. From the moment I arrived at my first hotel in Paris until the end of the trip, I encountered several issues that greatly affected my overall enjoyment. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions when planning their travels.
Poor Hotel Selection:
The hotels provided by WOW WORLD and Yatra were well below my expectations.
They were supposed to be 4 star properties but they were more like dorm rooms. All the hotel accommodations were very far from the city centre, they were literally on the outskirts of Europe. The rooms were outdated, poorly maintained, and lacked basic amenities.
Air conditioners were not considered as a priority considering European summers. It felt like the accommodations hadn't been properly vetted before being included in the package. I specifically requested comfortable and modern accommodations, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
The rooms were very small considering the triple-sharing bases. This greatly impacted my overall comfort and relaxation during the trip.
Inadequate Breakfast Options:
Considering we’re vegetarians as mentioned to the company.
Breakfast is an important meal, especially when you're embarking on a busy day of sightseeing. However, the breakfast options provided by Yatra and Wow World were severely lacking. There was no hot milk or basic options like fruits for vegetarians.
Also, it was really bad to see that at few hotels Indians were ill-treated by providing a different breakfast area than the rest of Europeans or locals In Paris and Switzerland, all the 3 days in both the hotel had same breakfast everyday, there was no choice in fruits also the basic thing like bread was also not refilled.
The offerings were limited, repetitive, and of poor quality. I was expecting at least a variety of fresh and delicious options to start my day, but instead, I was disappointed with the lackluster choices available. It's essential for a travel company to ensure that the breakfast experience is satisfying for their customers.
Lunch and Dinner:
The repetition of the menu for both lunch and dinner was highly noticeable. Indian food like potato sabji and channas were served everyday everywhere. It felt as though the same set of dishes were being served repeatedly, without any effort to offer different choices or cater to varying.
Lack of Response and Customer Service:
One of the most frustrating aspects of my experience with specifically Yatra was the lack of responsiveness from their customer service team. The agent I spoke name- MR .MANISH SRIVASTAVA encountered various issues during my trip and attempted to reach out for assistance, but my calls went unanswered. There was no proper guidance before the trip from the agent were rest of the customers were given a proper guidance and knowledge about the trip from their agents which was expected from when I reached out to Manish to discuss these problems, they not only ignored my complaints but also denied accepting the existence of any issues. It is highly unprofessional for a travel company's agent to dismiss valid concerns and refuse to take responsibility for their shortcomings. Yatra team should consider this and take actions against.
Tour guide:
Mr. Anubhav Sahu (WOW WORLD)
In addition to the lack of cooperation, the tour manager displayed a consistently negative attitude. They seemed impatient, dismissive, and unapproachable. Any attempt to seek guidance or ask questions was met with rudeness and condescension. The tour manager's negative demeanor created an unwelcoming and uncomfortable environment for us detracting from the overall enjoyment of the trip.
The water bottles were given according to his convince at times later in the late evening or post all the activities.
Good part of Mr. Sahu was he has good knowledge about history and it’s past of each and every city which was appreciated.
Upon comparings notes with fellow travellers:
I discovered that the cost I paid for the tour was significantly higher than what other customers paid for the exact same package. This unfair discrepancy in pricing left me feeling deceived and undervalued as a customer. I expected transparency and fairness in pricing from a reputable travel company like YATRA and MR. MANISH.
In conclusion, my experience with Yatra and Wow World was extremely disappointing. The poor hotel selection, inadequate breakfast options, and lack of response from their customer service team greatly impacted the quality of my trip. I expected better from a reputable travel company and regret choosing them for my European adventure. I hope that Yatra and Wow World take these criticisms seriously and work towards improving their services for future customers˜
