Yatra.com has always been my favorite website to book air tickets. I have found them very clear and transparent in terms of fares and uncluttered in site navigation.


My experience with their customer service took place last month. I had to visit Mumbai over a weekend and be back in Delhi for work. Also since it was personal travel I was looking for the best deal possible.


After much research on fares and suitable timings my husband booked me on Indian Airlines 7.00 pm flight to Mumbai on Friday evening. He paid the fares and I was happy at getting a good deal.


Then he got a call from the yatra customer service people and they told him that between the time that he selected the flight & paid for it the prices had hiked by 1300. We were naturally upset because it imbalanced the whole budget I had for the trip.


And my husband did argue that he had paid the amount that was required of him to pay at the time of booking.


Finally after many calls and co-ordination they put me on 8 pm Go Air flight. I forfeited dinner on the flight but at least I got to fly the same day at no extra cost.


I thank the Yatra customer service people(I do not have the specific names but when I do get them I will mention them) for doing whatever they did and making it possible for me to make that trip(as it turned out that my grandma suddenly took ill and had I cancelled the trip due to the price hike or had the Yatra staff not helped me I would not have been able to see my ailing grandmother).


Customer service is not just doing your best but doing that which makes you the best in the eyes of your customer. Yatra was always my choice for air travel but now it will be the only choice.
