Redmi 1s entered into Indian market and set new standards for how much can you get from a lower budget device. It had the specs of moto g which was selling for Rs 12000 and Redmi 1s was selling for Rs 6000 having a much better camera than Moto G.
I bought it in the 3rd sale and I still have the phone and I use it often.
It has got a snapdragon 400 chipset which is a very good performer in budget segment.
It's camera is still one of the best under Rs 10000 and it is better than Redmi 2 prime.
The best part is that it is an excellent device for those who like custom rom.
There are a ton of custom roms available for Redmi 1s which make the device much smoother than the MIUI default rom.
Xiaomi has not released lolipop yet for Redmi 1s but thanks to the ROM developpers we can enjoy even marshmallow rom on this device and it will get upcomming anddroid versions custom rom also.
These factors make this device still a good choice in under Rs 6000.
