I own a Mi A1 since October. The phone has some great features and great capabilities but it has somev serious problems too. The problems are making the user experience pathetic.
Till 31st December the phone was running on Android 7.0.2 Nougat. With nougat I was facing the problem of force closing of apps. sometimes phone used to restart by it's own. I was fed up of this. I was thinking with the Oero update things will get better but surely the didn't.
I got update of Android 8.0 Oreo on 1st January 2018. I installed the update. After the Oreo update the phone got a new look but new problems too. Look viz nothing much has changed. Only notification panel got a refresh and came with a new color that is material white.
The new problems which to phone got are many.
1) The phone lags too much. The user experience has gone down. With some apps the phone just gets stuck. The apps are PayTm, camera ( phone's on stock camera) . With these apps I am facing problem daily. After 1st of January there is not a single day when I haven't restarted the phone. The phone lags so much that I must restart the phone. After restarting it runs smooth for some time but still lags after some time.
2) Problem with calls - It just doesn't show the missed calls in notification. You will only come to about missed calls if you would go and check in calls history. Now when you call to the dialler and see the call history you would see nothing but missed calls. It shows all the calls as missed calls. Dialed, received and missed, all are shown as missed calls.
3) After Oreo update the gesture to bring down the notification panel through fingerprint sensor has gone.
These were the problems which I am facing and don't know when or if they will be solved.
Mi A1 is surely a good phone but these are problems which are making the user experience bad and making the users sad.
These problems could be fixed with software updates. If xiaomi works they can fix it. I am wishing that they fix it.
